**PLEASE NOTE: While Wholly Wholesome DID provide me with these products to review at no cost, I was not in any way paid for my review. The following opinion is hereby my own.**
Welcome to August, everyone! Can you even believe it?! Before you know it we’ll all be enjoying pumpkin-flavored EVERYTHING!
But before that happens, let’s celebrate! In fact, let’s celebrate…the peach.
Why the peach, you ask? Did you know that August is National Peach Month? It IS! And the BEST part about that news is that Wholly Wholesome is doing a fantastic contest in celebration!
Now, if you haven’t heard of Wholly Wholesome, no worries, let me fill you in. Wholly Wholesome’s baked goods are not only delicious, they are healthy indulgences. Wholly Wholesome can be found in the frozen food aisle in many major retailers in your area. The brand is also certified Kosher and Yoshon, and offers gluten free products within its robust line of ready to bake pies, ready to bake cakes, pizza dough balls and a variety of other healthy baked goods. In 2014, Wholly Wholesome opened a dedicated gluten free and allergen free bake house facility to produce Wholly Gluten Free products including the Gluten Free Pizza Dough Ball and Gluten Free Pie Shell.
You KNOW that was the part that I was totally excited about, right? Hey, if it’s gluten-free, it’s for ME!
So, in thinking of some fun I could have with Wholly Wholesome for National Peach Month, what else did I come up with but PIE. OH. PIE. Who doesn’t love pie? (If YOU don’t love pie, then we can’t be friends.) I don’t mind if I do. But you know what’s hard for me when it comes to pie? Who makes a gluten-free pie? I mean, really. Pie crusts are a bit of an art, and I have never found a ready-made gluten-free pie crust. UNTIL NOW.
Beautiful, is it not! Oh boy!
Yeah yeah yeah, they also have these…
I grabbed a Whole Wheat version, too…because that’s something else I’ve never seen ready-made!
This is exciting stuff, y’all! So, I figured I would make one type of Peach Pie with the gluten-free shell, and another type with the whole wheat! I decided on a Peach Pie with Almond Crumble (originally found over at Love Grows Wild – visit Liz if you aren’t a regular over there yet – she’s fabulous!) and a Peaches & Cream Pie that I’ve had the recipe to for years…but I had never tried it! (It was posted by the fabulous Debbi Borsick over on All Recipes – thanks, Debbi!) I decided to make that one gluten-free!
I followed Liz’s recipe for the Peach Pie with Almond Crumble – you can find it by CLICKING HERE. Here’s how mine turned out:
Whatcha think? I couldn’t eat this one due to it not being gluten-free, but my testers LOVED it! Yes, they could tell that the crust was whole-wheat, but it didn’t negative effect the taste of the pie for anyone, and they would try the whole-wheat crust again in other desserts! Woot woot!
Now, on to the Gluten-Free Peaches & Cream Pie!
- 1 Wholly Wholesome Gluten-Free Pie Shell
- 3/4 cup gluten-free flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 3-ounce package gluten-free non-instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 29-ounce can sliced peaches in syrup, drained and syrup reserved
- 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a medium mixing bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder and pudding mix. Mix in butter, egg and milk. Beat for 2 minutes. Pour mixture over baked pie crust. Arrange the peach slices on top of the pudding mixture.
- In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add 1/2 cup sugar and 3 tablespoons reserved peach syrup. Beat for 2 minutes. Spoon mixture over peaches to within 1 inch of pan edge. Mix together 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and sprinkle over top.
- Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, until golden brown. Chill before serving.
Whatcha think about THIS one? It was definitely CREAMY, as you can see! A nice combination of flavors, too! This really is the perfect summer pie, as far as I’m concerned! And my testers stated that they could not even tell that the gluten-free crust was gluten-free! Which is a win in my book!
Now, I know we all like pie, but don’t forget that Wholly Wholesome also carries pie crusts, pie dough, cookie dough, cakes, ready-made pies, waffles and even pizza dough!

I have been eating gluten free for many years now. I haven’t tried a premade pie crust. In fact, I haven’t even made one myself. I like the fact that they have NO preservatives.
Oh my … My mouth is watering and I can’t even smell it. Just the photo itself is fabulous. It’s a work of art!
Mine was too. The photo makes me want it and want it right now.
That peach pie with almonds look fabulous! I want some. The whole wheat sound wonderful to me. We love whole wheat!
I’ve never seen gluten free pie crust either, which is what I would like to try. Would be interesting to see how it stands up to a regular crust. It looks really good!
I don’t think that brand is around here-at least I’ve never seen it. Maybe Mrs. Green’s? At any rate–I LOVE pies–especially fruit pies and it has been a while since I had a peach pie!!!!! Those recipes sound good and maybe I will be able to make it without ruining it?
This pie looks SO good. My friend has to eat gluten free, I am going to tell her about this post, she will be in heaven!
I love that they offer these gluten free pie shells. It is wonderful for those who are on a modified diet.
My friend is GF and always looking for new things to try! I think she will love knowing there are crusts she can use for th holidays! I will share- thank you!
I’ve never even heard of them before, but I’m gonna get ’em now!!
Btw, what is Yoshon certified?
Thank you for the recipes! I’m excited to try!

I didn’t realize that August was peach month! Yes to peaches – one of my favorite summer fruits. Your peaches and cream pie looks so good. I want to be one of your testers! 🙂

I would love to try their Pearl Sugar Belgian Waffles! Your pie sounds delicious!
Looks great! I would love to try out their pizza dough.
Those pies look delisg and what a great review! I have never heard of this company. My first thought when you said you grabbed the wheat dough was that I had no idea gluten-free people could eat wheat. But then I saw you served it to others. Can I be one of your testers.
Looking at those pie crusts made me want to go out and buy some… I can see a nice quiche in my future. 🙂
I’ve never seen these crusts before, but that pie looks delicious and I am going to have to find some to make it.
I have never had peaches in a pie before! It sounds delicious, though.
I need to get my hands on that organic whole wheat pie crust! I always make my own but this would be so much easier!
I want some of that classic guacamole.
I have never tried this brand before. I love to bake pies. I will look for this the next time I go shopping.
Peach pie is one of my favorites. I love that they offer a gluten free crust. I know what I am making this weekend.
That looks delicious! I love finding ready made gluten free products for my daughter, who has celiac disease.
Yum! Looks delicious I had no idea there was a peach month! That crust looks great!
I’d be so excited to start making more gluten free desserts. This pie sounds so good!
I haven’t tried that brand of pie crust. I am not sensitive to gluten, however, it has been our family’s decision to start eating healthier so I might as well try these great pie crusts.
I have never heard of Wholly Wholesome. Looks like a more guilt-free way to enjoy dessert!
Wow, this sounds really good. I like to try different things.
I am always looking for new gluten free products. This looks so delicious. I will have to give it a try.
I have never heard of Wholly Wholesome before, but the shells do look so tasty! I love the gluten free variety. My husband has been trying to cut down on gluten consumption, and this would be an awesome after dinner dessert to serve him!
