A Winner… and the Spring-Easter Holiday Shelf!

You remember we were having a giveaway last week for some fantastic Van’s Natural Foods products, right? Well, we have a winner!

Calli Welsch! Calli, you are the winner! Congrats!!! Please shoot me an email at Kristen@theroadtodomestication.com and I’ll get you all set up! Thanks so much to everyone who participated!

And now…

I can hardly believe that it’s time to decorate my holiday shelf again! 2014 is much better than 2013, as far as holiday spacing on the calendar is concerned. I had a good amount of time for the St. Patricks’s Day decor to stay up, and now Easter and Spring are coinciding nicely! So, may I present, the Spring-Easter Holiday Shelf!

Now, I MAY be a bit willing to admit that I MIGHT have gone a little bit bright and colorful and cheerful on this one. I. DON’T. CARE. It’s SPRING, for goodness sake! And EASTER, too!

And let me just take a second to make note right here that the banner across the bottom? My momma made that one for me! Isn’t it pretty?!

These flowers are just a few from my stash that I keep with my crafting stuff!

When you’re allergic to LIVE flowers, you like to keep lots of the fake ones around in case you need some. (At least I do!)

And this is the whole reason for Easter, right?

Butterflies are also significant of new life!

Pinwheels just make me think of Spring…

…and of course, I had to hang something on the inside of the door, too!

So there it is!

Whatcha think? Do you decorate for Spring? How about for Easter?

Oh, and just for kicks, here’s LAST YEAR’S SPRING SHELF and LAST YEAR’S EASTER SHELF!

  1. It is definitely Spring like. No I do not decorate for any holidays! I live in a small apartment and honestly there is no room-extra decorations would just make it look cluttered. Yours is very pretty.

  2. I love it! It is beautiful and just screams spring. Tell your mom that she did a great job on the banner! I always enjoy seeing your shelf all decked out for the season.

  3. well done….it says “spring”!! I like how you captured the bright colors and joy of the season.

  4. Congrats to the winner! I can’t believe this year is flying by so quickly, but bring on the Spring!! That’s a lovely display 🙂

  5. I enjoy you sharing your holiday shelf. This one is very pretty. You Mom did a great job! That banner was the first thing I noticed! I do decorate for each season as well, waiting until the first of April for the Easter décor though just to be a little bit closer. I have a hard time deciding what I want to do differently each year 🙂

  6. I never decorate for the holidays except Christmas (sometimes) and Halloween (sometimes). This is really cute and would brighten the room!

  7. So cute! I was just looking through some stuff in our storage room today and saw the box marked “Easter Decorations”. Being 39 weeks pregnant I decided to leave that box alone. Not even gonna worry about opening it this year. 😉 And YES, He Is Risen is the reason we celebrate!!!! =)

  8. Love how your mom got in on the fun with this Holiday 🙂 I do love all of it, but especially love the little frames with a message <3 What a great way to make a statement or share a verse. You know by now, I really don't decorate but I have added a few bunnies along the check in counter at work, they're all 'plush' and neutral colors and nuzzled into artificial plants. The patients are enjoying my subtle holiday theme. I still have time to add a few wooden eggs, but need to find some plain ones, I want to decoupage in burlap so they keep with the neutral theme and maybe one or two chalkboard painted for message 🙂 Thanks for another great Holiday Shelf showing!! and thanks to mom for her adorable contribution!!

  9. The shelf is a great, concentrated space for adding in a splash of decorating. I’d do something like that as opposed to a whole house full of decorations. Yours looks very spring!
