I’m not the best sleeper in the world. I’ll confess, I’m normally thrilled with 4 hours of sleep – anything more than that and I’m just not quite sure what to do with myself!
It’s not that I CAN’T physically sleep. (Well…unless there is some champion snoring happening next to me, which DOES happen every now and again!) My lack of sleep has to do with a few things, really. Mainly that I work a full time job and run two small businesses, too. Yeah, I’ve got the tiny bit of sleeping narrowed down to THAT.
It’s gotten bad enough that I will literally set my alarm to get up in the middle of the night to switch the laundry over, or to unload the dishwasher after it’s finished, because I know I won’t have the time to do those things the next day. And those are important things. Forks and underwear, you know. Important. So if you happen to be in our neighborhood and you drive by our house around 3 in the morning and see all the lights on, no worries. Nothing’s wrong at all! That’s just the normal night-time sleep intermission!
However, I’ve been using a FitBit of late, and one of the things that the nifty little gadget does is track your sleep! Crazy, huh? And something about seeing how LITTLE I actually DO sleep, right there on the screen, well, it made me pay a bit of attention. After all, not getting enough sleep can really be detrimental for your health!
Casper, the sleep and mattress experts, contacted me and asked me if I’d like to publish an infographic on sleeping, I thought it was rather timely. After all, I’m pretty sure everyone can function much better on the Road to Domestication on a full night’s sleep!
**PLEASE NOTE: While Perfect Linens DID provide me with this product to review at no cost, I was not in any way paid for my review. The following opinion is hereby my own.**
I don’t have too many “favorite” brands in use around our home. I like a variety of decor pieces, appliances and furnishings – you’ll find a little bit of everything if you come over! But there ARE several things that are crazy important to me when it comes to our house. And one of those items would be: SHEETS.
I’m big on sheets, y’all. I never thought I would be a person who cares about thread counts and deep pockets and oversized flat sheets, but I totally am. I look at it like this: my hubby and I both work some pretty high-stress jobs. Sleep is incredibly important to us! And the more comfortable we are, the better we sleep. And the better we sleep, the better we can handle what’s needed of us on a daily basis. So…sheets. Sheets are important!
I was actually on the hunt for a new set of sheets for our bed a few weeks ago when I got an email from the lovely Catherine from Perfect Linens.
The company name grabbed my attention instantly, because I felt like that was exactly what I was on the hunt for: the perfect linens! Turns out they have the right to be called that, too. The folks at Perfect Linens are literally sheet experts! Their website specializes in sheets ONLY (no other products) and they have more than 30 years of experience selling sheets to some of the biggest retailers out there!
So, you get to be a sheet expert by selling a lot of sheets, eh? Well, not exactly. Perfect Linens actually TESTS for the best sheets using instruments and fabric analysis, such as companies like Nike and NASA would. No joke! Check out their laboratory!
I saw a commercial for this product the other day, and I thought to myself, well, how nice!
Let me preface this by saying that I love good smells! I have a candle in every room of the house, AND in my office at work, ha! Plus air fresheners in the bathrooms and extra sprays near the toilets and in the closets. (This may be part of the reason why I have to take an allergy pill every day now, but I don’t care!) I do love a good smell!
So when I saw Febreze’s new Sleep Serenity Bedroom Spray, I was intrigued. I used to have some linen spray that I would spray on the sheets and pillows before I got in bed. Very relaxing. But I couldn’t remember where I got it and I couldn’t find any more that seemed as good.
But I bought a can of Febreze’s Sleep Serenity, just to try it out.
