When we first started feeling the effects of the pandemic here in Central Florida, one of the main issues we started having was a supply issue. Mainly cleaning supplies. At that point, it was much easier to find some kind of general household cleaner in a spray bottle than it was to find any kind of cleaning wipes. Cleaning wipes were what I was used to, so it was mildly inconvenient for me, but I decided it wasn’t the worst thing in the world, and I could deal. I bought a stack of dishcloths and outfitted myself with cleaner concentrates and spray bottles – I was all set!
But can I just say that I wish I had known about dishcloths from Emerging Green when all that went down?!
Emerging Green is a small family business that sells lifestyle products made of sustainable materials. Currently 70% of their products are made of environmentally friendly materials, and they are striving to do even better than that! With one of their goals being to substitute daily consumer products with greener alternatives, naturally their dishcloths are made from high-quality natural bamboo fiber. They are soft, durable and super absorbent – and they come in a pack of 20!
Well, it’s springtime here in Central Florida once more! (Please don’t hate us – we can’t help our weather and the fact that anything that CAN bloom is already starting to.) And along with that, something else we have a hard time helping is our allergies. *sneeze*
The oak blossoms are the worst for us here. All four of us are allergic, and sometimes our reactions are triggered by something as small as a quick ride in the car. No matter what, we always try our hardest to rush inside very quickly, hoping to escape “the blossom”. Yes, we all take regular vitamins and allergy medicines, and keep the house dusted and vacuumed – the normal things. But still we struggled.
So when Osmond from Toppin asked if I would be interested checking out one of their air purifiers, I was intrigued. Why not, right? Maybe it would be helpful!
Toppin’s Comfy Air C2 True HEPA Air Purifier arrived very well-packaged, and it literally took less than five minutes to set up and get going – anyone could do it. Points for sturdy simplicity, for sure. And check out the filter it boasts!
They’re not messing around! The True HEPA is designed to remove up to 99.97% of all particles (as small as 0.3 microns in diameter!) when the nylon pre-filter and activated carbon layer filter out smoke and odors.
The unit itself is about the size of a mini tower fan, so super easy to place anywhere around your home where you may need a bit of air quality control. It runs at an extremely low noise level, and the easy-to-use LCD panel that controls the unit will keep you abreast of the filter status, allow you to create a timer, and also adjust the fan level to different settings.
If you’ve followed the blog for any amount of time, you know we live in a farming town in Central Florida. While we are not farmers ourselves (well, except for my experimental garden that continues to surprise me) we are literally surrounded by farmland. If you were to come sit on my front porch with me right now, you would smell the sweet sweet aroma of strawberries from fields across the road from us, behind us, and just down the street from us. And these days you would even be able to see the pickers dashing up and down the rows of fruit, snatching up the best options from each plant. Sometimes I have to stop and remind myself not to take this life for granted; it really is amazing.
However, with the somewhat warmer weather, a bit of rain, and wide open spaces come a few issues. Mainly mice, frogs, mosquitos and ants.
Granted, the circle of life is alive and well out in these parts. The hawks and other large birds don’t let too many mice or frogs get away, and the frogs are huge fans of dining on mosquitos. However, when the mice DO get through, they come in our garage and wreak havoc. When the frogs DO get through they pile up behind the wreath on our front door and PEE everywhere. And the ANTS. Oh my word at the ants.
So we try to stay on top of our pest control around here. As soon as we notice an issue, you can find my hubby outside with his trusty sprayer, barricading our abode with his secret pest control mix. (I seriously have no idea what he puts in there.) And typically to do that he uses a small pump sprayer that he picked up at our local hardware store.
Our twins are four years old now. FOUR. How on earth did THAT happen?! I’m honestly not sure, but one thing I do know is that they have an opinion on most things these days. Four going on fourteen, if you know what I mean.
They’re VERY into unicorns of late. I’m talking, if there’s a product that is unicorn-themed, we have it. Hair bows. Sunglasses. Purses. Shirts. Pajamas. Slippers. Sleep masks. We even have rubber unicorns that hold a ball in their mouths, and when you squeeze their bellies, the ball shoots out. That joker hurts if it hits you just right, I’m here to say.
I’ve been working on updating their room a little bit over the past few months. Their original nursery when they were first born didn’t really have a theme, just a lot of colors. That’s how I wanted it, so it would grow along with them and be flexible as their needs and wants started to change. These days the colors still work, but I’ve been adding in a few more items that personify who they are right now. I’m not done yet, but I was pretty intrigued when Cellia from PhotoWall asked me to try out some of their products.
Sometimes I think about you, reader. And I think that, no matter who you are or what you do or what you’re like…we can all agree that what I have just experienced in my life in no way, shape or form has been…FUN.
Allow me to share with all of you that I believe we are FINALLY at the end of POTTY TRAINING. Potty training TWINS. (I’m still shuddering thinking about it. I’m also waiting on some kind of huge regression to happen because, well, that WOULD be my luck.)
But if there’s one thing I’ve learned about potty training, it’s that potty training is MESSY. Oh my goodness. Is it ever MESSY.
