A couple of years ago, my hubby asked me to point an appointment on the calendar.
“A guy is coming to test our water.”
“Oh, okay. What for?”
“Telling us the quality or something like that. We get a $100 Visa card if we let him do it.”
“Oh, okay then.”
Needless to say, three hours worth of a water-testing appointment later, we did NOT purchase the $5,000 water system the guy was trying to sell us, but we DID get the $100 Visa. Was it worth it? You got me! But what I DID learn through the process was, number one, no more letting people come over and test water. And number two, there ARE things you can do to make your water better and more heathy for your family!
So when Kaylee from Water Logic contacted me about sharing a drinking water infographic, I thought it was a great idea! We all need to be mindful of our drinking water – it’s so important to our good health!
As if I don’t have enough to do these days (HA!) I’ve been thinking about taking up sewing. Maybe making all the twins outfits. Maybe opening an Etsy shop. Maybe making some cute treasures for friends and family.
I talked myself out of that because I thought it might be too stressful, right? But then Louis from Terry’s Fabrics contacted me with this cool info graphic about why sewing is great for your BRAIN! What?! Check it out!!!
The other day, I walked out to the washing machine to move the clean load of laundry over to the dryer, and I almost hit the ground (after my foot found a nice puddle of water). I was instantly on the hunt for where the water came from. Once I discovered it had come from the bottom of the washer, I then looked up and realized that the washer hadn’t even finished it’s cycle, and was reading ERROR across the screen.
Well, that’s just uncalled for.
You know the cycle your mind goes through! “Oh my word, the washer’s broke. How old is this thing?! It shouldn’t be broke now, should it? I need to find the manual, I guess. I think I’ll wait until J gets home – he can look at it. But all the laundry I have to do! Who fixes these things? Oh my gosh, what if we have to buy a new one?! This is the last thing I wanted to spend money on right now! Might as well replace both the washer and the dryer so they match! UGH!!! How much is this gonna cost?!”
If you’re like me, all those thoughts run through your mind in about 10 seconds. Lucky for me, crisis averted when I realized the issue was part of the comforter I was washing had gotten stuck in the door. Ah ha! All fixed, all back to normal.
However, it’s not always such an easy fix, is it? Eventually, you’re gonna be left with the decision: do I get this repaired or just totally replace it?
Thankfully Matt from Unique Indoor Comfort has come to our rescue with a really fabulous infographic on just that! What I REALLY LOVE about this one is that he’s identified what to search for ON YOU TUBE when you’re stumped! That’s nothing less than amazing! See for yourself…
Some time ago, before we moved into our home, there was a bit of water damage in our Master Bedroom. We’ve now been in the house for 3 years, and have never seen any kind of leak or seepage anywhere in the house, so I’m not sure where the issue was to start out with. But I know it affected one particular board of the wood flooring in that room. Yeah, we saw it when we bought the house, but we didn’t think it was that big of a deal.
Today, that one messed up board has off-set the rest of the flooring in our Master Bedroom. Everything has shifted a bit over the past three years, and what we didn’t think was that big of a deal now is a bit bigger, for sure. I threatened to my husband the other day that one day he would come home and find that I had just torn up the flooring in that room. He laughed…and then turned around to check and make sure that I was joking. Some days, I must admit, I think it would be much easier to do it and be done with it! And replace it with…some polished concrete!
As a matter of fact, I haven’t ruled out polished concrete as a flooring option anywhere in our home. Yet. Because I like what it has to offer! So when James from Midland Flooring contacted me about his infographic touting the benefits of polished concrete flooring, well – I didn’t NEED more fuel for my fire, but it was good stuff! See what you think!
No no, we are not getting ready to move. I’m pretty sure the house we have now can accommodate the craziness that twins is about to bring us…at least for a while!
However, in all my perusal of fabulous shows on HGTV (which is where, let’s face it, my TV is most-often tuned to) one of my favorite things to see is when folks “stage” a house. Basically, they make it look the way buyers dream it can look! And I tend to take a lot of cues from that around our home when it comes to design and basic decor.
So when Daisy from The Rug Seller contacted me about an infographic on making sure your house is ready to be sold, my immediate thought was, “Hey, I would do all these things to just make my house BETTER, whether or not I was actually selling!” (Well…except the depersonalizing!) Check it out and see if you agree with me!
