Life has a way of surprising the heck out of you, doesn’t it? I mean, I guess there MAY be those people out there who always have everything buttoned up perfectly, but I don’t know any of them! Do you?!
Two of our very dear friends are godparents to our two-and-a-half-year-old twins. And they got the surprise of their lives not long after the girls were born when they discovered…THEY were pregnant! That little surprise just turned a year old a couple months ago – isn’t he the cutest?!
We all absolutely adore him!
Yes, life can be very surprising, but, along those lines, one thing I love to do is surprise people who mean the world to us with thoughtful gifts. And for me, if I can get a personalized gift? Even better! And it really is the icing on the cake if I can find that gift online, because I just don’t have a lot of time to go store to store looking for the perfect item these days.
So when Kate from Gifts for You Now asked if I’d like to review one of their Easter products, there was one item that jumped off the screen at me: this Embroidered Personalized Easter Basket! I KNEW our favorite baby boy would LOVE it!
Is that not the cutest?! I fell in love it with as soon as I saw it!
Welcome to the Home Matters Linky Party #176! Our theme today is Easter Celebrations and Decorations! I love the Easter holiday. Our littles are just now 19 months, so we’ve been trying to teach them about Easter Egg hunting, but, as the years go on, we’re excited to teach them about the true meaning behind Easter! He is RISEN! I’m so thankful! And I’m excited to share some Easter ideas with you today! #EasterCelebrations #HomeMattersParty
Easter Celebrations and Decorations + HM # 176
So there are obviously a few things I think of when I think of EASTER! Food, decor, baskets and stuff for the kiddos. Hopefully I covered all of that here for you! What’s YOUR favorite element?!
This past weekend was a very busy one – two rehearsals and two performances of our church’s Palm Sunday/Easter musical, “The Story”.
For those of you who may not know, my husband and I both sing in the choir at our church (we have about 80 Worship Arts Members, including choir, band, sound and video team) and were excited for “The Story”. It was originally a book by Max Lucado (one of my faves!) and was transformed into a musical journey through the Bible, with visuals like this one (CLICK HERE if you have a second and want to see one of the songs!) Since we’ve been practicing these songs since January, they’ve really made their way into my heart, not just my head, and lyrics are POWERFUL! So I thought I’d make some inspirational Easter printables for everyone from some of my favorite lyrics…for you to grab for FREE, of course! So here we go… Continue reading →

I can hardly believe that it’s time to decorate my holiday shelf again! 2014 is much better than 2013, as far as holiday spacing on the calendar is concerned. I had a good amount of time for the St. Patricks’s Day decor to stay up, and now Easter and Spring are coinciding nicely! So, may I present, the Spring-Easter Holiday Shelf!
Now, I MAY be a bit willing to admit that I MIGHT have gone a little bit bright and colorful and cheerful on this one. I. DON’T. CARE. It’s SPRING, for goodness sake! And EASTER, too!
First of all, I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter, and I want to thank you for sharing my blog post “Planning Your Easter Menu”! I am so please that particular post received almost 1,100 views! WOW!!! (For this little blog of mine, that’s HUGE!!!)
So…now what? People always talk about the “post-holiday blues” after Christmas and New Years, but yesterday, a friend of mine mentioned that there were no more holidays to decorate for until July 4th, and how sad she was about that. I got to thinking – I guess the post-holiday blues can happen any time!
