Keeping your home clean and organized, especially with children running around, might feel impossible. But there are a few ways to help you maintain a cleaner home through the implementation of simple tips and tricks that are tailored for households with children! Let’s check them out!
We have established this list is for families with children, maybe even young children running around, and, possibly (or probably), smudging surfaces, scratching this, scuffing that, and so on. Well, the trick here is to find products that not only help you clean your home, but assist in preventing smudges, scratches, and scuff marks from ever happening in the first place.
Using nanoCare waterproofing products on the surfaces in your home is the answer we have all been searching for. Basically, what this does is create a protective layer from corrosion, scratches, marks, you name it. It is also waterproof, which is great for those beautiful surfaces that do not need water spilling all over them accidentally.
Okay, okay. I’ll admit it. I’m THAT person. I’m that person who notices how dirty the vacuum is when I go to the closet and pull it out. Often times, before I vacuum, I stop and wipe it down, and might even spray some disinfectant up inside of it. Not joking.
And it’s not just the vacuum cleaner. I clean all kinds of “cleaning appliances”. The dishwasher. The Roomba. The mop. The bottle sanitizer. The pressure washer.
And yes…the washing machine. At least once a week (normally more) you can find me running a cycle with just soap, or with just bleach, or with just bleach and soap, trying to clean my washing machine. It’s worse if anyone in the house is sick! Then I’m literally cleaning the washing machine in between every load! And thank goodness for “Stay Fresh”, which is a nice little cleaning mode my washing machine has that can be easily run. I think that helps tremendously!
If YOU don’t clean YOUR washing machine, no worries! The following guide will take you through how to clean your washing machine, step by step. Whether you have a top loading machine, or a front loading, this guide can help you.
Why Should I Clean My Machine?
Given how easy it is to regularly clean and maintain your washing machine, and how much time, work, and money it could save you, it is something that all of us should be doing on a monthly basis. You will both extend the lifetime of your machine, and also ensure that it continues to perform at optimum efficiency. Plus, it’s really not that difficult and takes very little time once you get started. If you need to know how to clean a washing machine, read on!
One of the things I’m SO looking forward to as the girls grow up is teaching them how to clean. Not so I have my own live-in housekeepers or anything like that! But I’m kind of interested to see if they have inherited any of my clean freak tendencies! After all, spring is already here, and with it comes a long tradition called spring cleaning. Just like this season, spring cleaning is meant to turn over a new leaf in your home and give it a fresh start as we await the summer.
So, one day when spring comes around all of our family members will get a role in cleaning our home. But for some, spring cleaning can be a just plain tiresome task and one certain folks might not be well-equipped to handle.
So this year, perhaps you should consider hiring a professional cleaning service to handle spring cleaning. Yes, I know, spring cleaning is a perfect way for your family to bond. But the truth is there are so many more activities your family could be enjoying together if you leave cleaning to the pros.
Hey, I won’t lie. I’ve hired cleaning services several times before. I tend to do it when the house starts to get out of my control and I don’t see how I can ever catch up. I do it for my sanity, I suppose.
Hiring a maid service was once thought as a luxury reserved for the elite. But nowadays there are a lot of affordable and reliable cleaning services that could handle your spring cleaning chores much more quickly and easily than you ever could.
I mean, we are knocked down GOOD. Last week was the week of the stomach virus. This week we are fighting some kind of fever with no other symptoms…yet. I mean, thank goodness it’s not the flu, but it has not been pretty around here, I’ll tell you that much.
Of course, as much as I can, I’ve been airing out the house and CLEANING. Cleaning like my life depends on it. And trying to stay as natural yet effective with my cleaning products as humanly possible.
Nowadays, people are more interested in using natural products than ever. Every aspect from our life is influenced by this trend, even house cleaning. However, the intention of using natural products for your house or apartment cleaning is not bad at all, because this method improves indoor air quality and is much safer, especially for children.
When there were no pets and no kids in our house, I could take one day and get the entire house clean. All 4 bedrooms. Both bathrooms. All the rest of the spaces. Totally, perfectly, spotlessly clean. The hubby and I could maintain that clean for a month or so…and then I’d clean big time again.
Things got a little harder when we got CoCo the Black Kitty. Enter a litter box and cat hair, right? Figured out how to make that work, and the clean house continued.
Then came Taffy the White Doggie. Enter dog hair and everything she would bring in from the outside. Got that down pat, too, and the clean house continued.
THEN came TWO sweet baby girls. Oh, they’re so sweet and cute. Love them SO much!
But, I’ll be honest: I’ve yet to figure out how to keep the house as clean as I used to before they arrived! And, in the spirit of honesty…it’s about to drive me NUTS!
I can get two rooms clean in about a week’s time now. And then I do my best to maintain that, but somehow they are filthy again before I get around to cleaning them again. I’ve been noticing that I really need to focus some more of my efforts in our bathrooms, because, really: CAN your bathroom ever BE too clean? I think not! Continue reading →
