Well, here we are at the beginning of another month. The month of DECEMBER, no less! I’m still having a hard time swallowing THAT one!
Nevertheless, it’s time to look back and see what the top five posts here on The Road to Domestication were last month!

It’s a celebration of all the yummy parts of the holidays, so it’s the perfect time to share one of my favorite Christmas recipes: Christmas Caramels!
Why I like them:
- They’re so easy! I mean, really! I never thought a CANDY could be this simple!
- It makes a large batch
- The consistency is to die for
I found this recipe on Pinterest via Alysha at How Does She? just this year, but they made the cut and have definitely been added to my Christmas arsenal of sweets!
Here’s what you need:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- Large microwave-safe bowl, at least a 10-cup capacity
- Wax paper
Getting to the final product is SO simple – CLICK HERE to see all the instructions!
This is really the perfect addition to my line-up of treats this Christmas, and I hope you’ll think so, too!
Do you make any candies at Christmas time? Which ones are your favorites?
Due to the amount of comments from all of my wonderful readers, it is not always possible for me to respond to each one. However, I absolutely do read them all, and if you’d like to address something specific, or have a question for me, please don’t hesitate to email me at Kristen@theroadtodomestication.com. I will respond to your email as soon as possible! Thank you for visiting the blog!
I’ve never been Trick-Or-Treating.
I know, that sounds crazy, right?
But it’s true.
My mom was one who always did her research, and she knew the actual origins of Halloween. She was always really careful with us kids, and so she didn’t want us to get mixed up in anything more than fun, and she also didn’t want us to be scared by anyone playing any pranks, or wearing really nasty costumes.
