I’m the type of gal who loves to host events “from scratch”.
Know what I mean? If it’s a birthday party, I like to make the cake, snacks and drinks from scratch. I like to craft all the decor. I like to think up and put all the favors together myself. I’m that kind of “from scratch”.
Buuuuut…I have twin 1-year-old girls. ‘Nuff said, right?! Sometimes “from scratch” is simply not possible! And, if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that time is FLYING. And it’s really hard to enjoy yourself at an event that you really want to enjoy yourself at if you’re worried about the things that you still need to finish crafting.
So, sometimes I have to make events easier.

In trying to come up with a theme, I remembered a special trip she made for her birthday last year to see the lovely 1D (One Direction). I didn’t know too much about them (I’m familiar with their song “That’s What Makes You Beautiful”…that’s about it), but I decided I had found my theme!
My research began. And here’s what I came up with.
You’ve seen my dining room:
So I decided to do a tad bit of decor there. In the process, I rediscovered these fabulous items at Party City:
Hello, all! I feel like I haven’t blogged in FOREVER! (In actuality, it’s been 5 days…which IS forever for someone who blogs daily! Wow!) So, for today’s “Over the Weekend” post, I’m headed back to Thursday of last week!
