Summer Holiday Shelf! (And a FREE printable!)

Well, since the 4th of July has come and gone, down came the Patriotic Holiday Shelf. I wanted to decorate with something that would last me until Fall, so this time, I decided to go with a beach theme! I’ve never done that before, so I wasn’t quite sure how it would turn out…but it worked well, I think. Let’s see what YOU think!

“Beachy” enough?

I snagged these fancy fishies at Beall’s Outlet on clearance…

…along with this super cute jar!

I love the combo of the silver, and the jute, and the glass! (And the pretty pop of color from that candle!)

I had the burlap already, and I thought it tied everything together nicely!

I needed something to frame…so I made this!

I also had all of these things in my decor stash…

…and I thought they looked “beachy”, too!

Now, you guys know that I like to hang things on the INSIDE of the front door to coordinate with the holiday shelf…but this time I couldn’t find what I wanted…

…so I made it myself! (No worries, that’s coming up on the blog soon! So easy to make your own decor!

So whatcha think of the Summer Holiday Shelf?

  1. I love that you do a shelf for all the holidays/seasons! You are so creative and I am loving all your decorations.

  2. I do decorate for summer and your beach theme is wonderful! I’ve never been in Bealls, but there is one near me. I’ll have to check it out because I love the fish and the jute glass jar.

    • Beall’s always has something “beachy”, Alli! They had some really pretty blue and turquoise and green melamine in there that I’ll bet you would love, too!

    • I try, Reema! I think I might actually do a Halloween shelf for the first time ever next! (I normally just do Fall…but I think I’ll do Halloween and then Thanksgiving this year!

  3. I can not wait until I can decorate for different occasions. I love the fact that it really does make it seem summery-beachy even though we are not near the ocean.

    • I know! I’m about 45 minutes from the actual beach, but this makes me feel like I could walk out the front door and be on the shore! πŸ™‚

    • It’s some kind of a drawer organizer I had, Sahana LOL (I rummage through my house to find anything that could be used when I’m re-doing the shelf!)

  4. What a beautiful shelf! I think it is fantastic that you change it up often and showcase beautiful pieces of art. I think this is something I would love to do with the kids as they would enjoy changing it out and adding new things. Thanks for sharing your work is stunning!

  5. Life is better at the beach! That looks so good! We are moving into a new house soon and those are great ideas. A few times we have collected sand and shells so that would be something I could add to our collection!

    • I know, I was looking for some sea shells I thought I had, but I couldn’t find them!

    • Aw, thanks, Melissa! I will be sharing that next week! πŸ™‚ It’s super easy!

    • Well, I put this up on July 5 LOL (The day after Independence Day, and I had the shelf decorated in a patriotic theme for Memorial Day and the 4th.) I’ll switch this out for Halloween on the first day of Fall, which is September 23, so I’ll have had it up for almost 3 months…that’s a good run, I think!

    • Well, I just move things around until they look right to me LOL (I think that may be more dumb luck than talent LOL) but thank you πŸ™‚

    • Actually, Amanda, that was once a career thought of mine…until the economy crashed and then I started focusing on jobs that people had no choice but to need…like insurance LOL I think I would need to move to a bigger city to do enough interior design business!

  6. I love this idea. I like decorating for different holidays and seasons, and this is a great way to do it on a small scale.

    • Exactly, Pam! I had originally tried to get my husband to let me keep the Christmas tree up all year long and decorate it for the different holidays…he shot that down real quick LOL This was the compromise πŸ™‚

    • Oh, thank you, Kristen! Sometimes it’s hard to do beachy and classy at the same time, but that’s what I was going for!

    • Thanks, Carly! Yes, as I was gathering stuff together, it all seemed a little bland to me, so I wanted some color, too!

    • Thanks, Jazmin! I like the mirror when decorating the shelf for sure…it ads a nice depth to everything!
