If you read yesterday’s post, you saw that I mentioned something called One Word. Instead of a New Year’s Resolution, the new thing is called One Word: a word you choose to focus on for the next year.

I thought about this for a long time, and I came up with lots of words. But the one that stuck out the most to me was: PEACE.

I’m not the most peaceful person in the world,Β  believe it or not. Between my Type A personality and my OCD tendencies, I can get wound up pretty quickly. And that’s definitely not my favorite thing about myself.

So that’s the word that I’ll be focusing on in 2014! Peace! And in celebration of that, I created printables of my three favorite quotes about peace – just for all of you!

Peace 1

Peace 2

Peace 3

Whatcha think? I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them! And, if you’d like to download them…

Now, what about you? If you could choose one word for 2014, what would it be?

  1. Peace is way better than being right! And once again, I have got to learn how to do a Free printable! I always love yours. Thank you for the encouragement today πŸ™‚

  2. PEACE is just a wonderful word to focus on. And it can cover many bases–peace in your home will lead to peace in your heart. My home and my heart could certainly use more PEACE. Well done, Kristen!

  3. What a wonderful word, peace. I love the printables and your intention for the year. The second quote really spoke to me; I think that in an effort to always seem assertive that not backing down was the answer. Now I realize that I don’t have to fight as much. Good luck and happy new year!

  4. I think the idea of choosing one word as your theme is a neat idea. The one you chose really resonates with me. We all need peace…. to lean into the peace of God. Phillipians 4:7
    God bless! πŸ™‚

  5. i would love to frame these and hang them on the wall it would be inspiring to see these daily as a reminder to find inner peace

  6. I am uncertain as to what my one word word be…Maybe content. Despite all the stress and strain of everyday junk, I try to just be content with myself and my life. We can always complain, but it never changes anything, so why bother? You printables are great and I pinned two to my “thoughts” board on PInterest.

  7. these are great printables! I love John 14:27. Such a great thing, knowing that HE can give us peace, even when we can’t be peaceful in and of ourselves.

  8. Thanks for these wonderful free printables. I need to become more peaceful in my life. With the way my life is going right now, I find myself always on the go…go…go and you won’t find me very peaceful. Your word is very soothing and is great for 2014!

  9. I love the printables, very nice and I love the word you chose. Peace is so important. I am not sure what my word is this year but I do know that this year is going to be fabulous.

  10. I love free printables, I use them in crafts and if the letters are big enough, also for wall decor. A great way to start the new year. Many thanks!

  11. Love your word, PEACE. I have worked on that one my life for quite a few years now, I have extended it to things that bring me peace. Serenity, Forgiveness, Acceptance. Not always easy, but practice has made it much more attainable than it used to be. I do this silly thing.. If something/someone upsets me, before I react I try to just smile and nod (yup like a dopey bobble head), think on it and then decide how to react. I’m not perfect but if I practice that more often, I have peace more often in my life. I’m rooting for your goal of PEACE this year ~ <3 ~
ps.. i'll be printing one or more of these to put up next to my desk at work πŸ™‚
