Just wait. When my husband (who is subscribed to my blog, of course!) gets the notification that I published a post called “I’m in the Mood to Redecorate”, I’m gonna hear about it!
But honestly, I am sooo in the mood!
Right now, our living room is shades of brown and burgundy. I chose that because I felt like it was warm and comfy and hospitable – and it’s all those things. See?
I mean, I’m definitely no designer, but I think it’s cozy! But it’s been like that for a few years now, and I’m wanting to do something different! I think maybe white, and shades of yellow and gray!
Also, our comforter on the bed in the Master Bedroom needs to be replaced, so I’m thinking a combination of teal and corral! (The room is already teal and browns, but I want to brighten it up a little bit! It feels dark sometimes, and I don’t like that.)
And third, our front bedroom will eventually, down the road, no, I am not pregnant, turn into a nursery. And I’ve always loved the white, navy blue and kelly green combo…kind of like what I have going here on the blog! So I might go that route, one never knows!
As I’m pondering all of these things, I got an email from Holly at Chairish.
Okay, first of all: are you familiar with Chairish?
Chairish.com makes it fun and easy for design lovers to buy and sell pre-loved decor to one another. Their shop exclusively features curator-approved treasures in a full-service and trustworthy environment. It’s vintage shopping and selling online! In their own words: Buy. Sell. Adore. And they have SO MUCH FUN STUFF on their website! CLICK HERE to see it all!
With my “redecoration” ideas in mind, I did a little browsing on the Chairish site, myself! Check out what I came up with:
The quintessential gray sofa!
And I found this while I was looking at the sofas…PERFECT for a photo shoot in a field at sunset!
I got goosebumps!
I started looking at bedroom items and found this:
Just what I need to hold the TV in the bedroom, with drawers to boot! I LOVE the color!
I even found some decor items in my white/navy blue/kelly green combo that I like!
You can shop or sell by category or color, location or price, style or brand…and more!
And while I like the color schemes that I came up with, Chairish came up with some amazing ones! Check this out:
OH! THAT AMETHYST AND EMERALD IS TO DIE FOR!!! Which one is YOUR favorite? What do you think of Chairish? And do tell me: are YOU in the mood to redecorate?
Due to the amount of comments from all of my wonderful readers, it is not always possible for me to respond to each one. However, I absolutely do read them all, and if you’d like to address something specific, or have a question for me, please don’t hesitate to email me at Kristen@theroadtodomestication.com. I will respond to your email as soon as possible! Thank you for visiting the blog!
I have been relocating often for the past years, and every time, I choose a different decoration for my home. Each apartment or house gives me a different feeling about the colors and furniture that I think would fit perfectly.
And even when settled down, I keep on moving furniture from one place to the other to optimize it, it is so much fun (and tiring…)
I love the Persimmon and Cornflower or maybe a brown and Cornflower, I just love baby boy and that is close to it. We have a small Apt. so I really can’t redecorate that much, but if I could I definitely would!
Sorry baby blue*
Honestly, I Have no desire to redecorate until my kids are grown up and no longer live here. They destroy everything I Have, so I can’t have anything nice until they are not around LOL.
I’m always in the mood to decorate! 🙂 And I’ve never heard of Chairish! I’m definitely rushing over to check it out. Thanks!
Oh, and I think the color schemes you’ve picked out are awesome! Looking forward to watching the transformation.
Love Love the peach and tangerine colours! The others look nice too but I was drawn to orange LOL
Beautiful posts and colors. Makes me want to tackle other neglected areas in our house. We upgraded our living room and got rid of a ton of furniture and stuff that was ugly and drabby (that site looks amazing) shortly after our daughter was born. I’m all for attractive and functional. No glass for us!
Great post.

Your color themes are lovely! I love re-decorating. 🙂
The change of seasons always makes me want to redecorate. My house has a long way to go.
I love Chairish. Good luck with your decorating, it’s so much fun!
I never heard of Chairish but it sounds like a great idea and I’m going to look into it. I totally get your urge to redecorate but your room really does look great right now!
Me too! I need a new look in my living room. Can’t wait to see what you end up with.
Ohhh my goodness all that color! I love it! I have been in a mood to decorate too!
Now I am in the mood to shop for furniture and furnishings. I had never heard of Chairish. I’m on the way to bookmark their site right now so I can give it my full attention soon!
I’ve never heard of Chairish.com, but I’m a fan now! Thank you!
I’ve got earth tones throughout my house with pops of bright color here and there, but I do like the amethyst and emerald combination. I try to use principles of feng shui when redecorating because I believe it’s all about the energy flow in a room and home.
What fun, Kristen! Your living room is cozy and comfy, but I know the feeling burning inside when you want a change! There was a time when my urge to redecorate was totally out of control that I would start moving beds and cupboards from one room to another. Once I got stuck with our double bed in the doorway – there was no way I could move it and hubby was doing a night shift … had to sleep on the couch that night! Enjoy! HUGS <3
I love how you can shop by color and get some ideas that way…love that aqua stand!!
Of course, that amethyst is the best of all! lol
I’m in a mood to DEcorate. Since we moved in here Feb 1st, we’ve done nothing. Except the 1 curtain I just hung a few weeks ago, now. Low energy causes anything to be a slooooow process!! But I do want to fix it up nice.
I love that aqua table with drawers. What a fun piece for my home!
LOL about your hubby!!! I guess he wants to save money! Anyway, my colors are the same – burgundy, brown, tan, I also have some orange. Well I think I like the cozy feeling for real. But if you want to change – I like the peach or caramel combo!
How about something blue? Your living room is so neat and orderly.
I am redecorating room by room using new and what I already have. I am trying to step outside my comfort zone by using new colors or styles that I am drawn to. So far I am happy.
I love the chair in the second picture down from the top. Very classic, but tres chic at the same time.
What great room ideas. I like lots of color. Makes life more happy.
I just redid my living room over the summer and I love it. It really makes a big difference when you are able to remodel a space that you spend a lot of time in.
It is nice and cozy looking now. I would love to redecorate too, but hubby and I have a really hard time agreeing on something we both like. 🙂
I’ve never heard of Chairish, but after browsing the site I’m obsessed! We just moved so I’m always in the mood to decorate, so this is just what I needed! PS. I love that amethyst and emerald! LOVE IT!
Some great color palates there. I think using color to inspire would work nicely!
It’s time I redecorate as well, I’m kind of getting bored of my living room colors. Love the ideas and pics you’ve posted here as inspiration.
I am always in the mood to redecorate! Unfortunately, my budget is NOT in the mood, lol. I really love the Persimmon and Cornflower colors, which is funny because I’m not usually an orange person. However, that orange is particularly gorgeous with that shade of blue!
I am so awful at decorating. I do not have an eye for it at all.
I am currently painting and redecorating my house. It is fun to freshen up each room. I love the Peacock and Dove colors.
I like the peacock and dove. I would love to be able to redecorate!
That console is so beautiful! Love the colour! Peacock + Dove combination is my favorite.
My favorite is the peacock and dove, You sound like me I am always trying to change things up . Drives my husband crazy.
I love each color scheme there, but definitely the peacock and dove. I want a grey sofa like that!
I love the very first picture with the I love all the different shades of blue. I am a big fan of hues of blue.
I’ve been working on our little place in Florida and decorating a little each trip. I love this Chairish site– so many unique pieces, it is like going to a bunch of great resale shops. I signed up!
I want to go shopping now. I love color especially in the fall.
Love those combinations! Im in the mood to redecorate too!
The one you call a photo prop, yeah I would have those all over my house even if they aren’t the most comfortable things! I love that look! My favorite is the emerald & green too! Tell your hubby atleast you are trying to be frugal about it! LOL! I am off to check out this site now. 🙂
I think your living room looks like its ready for Autumn.. But a change is always good! Very cute options here!
I’m loving the color schemes that you’re looking at. I just redid my kitchen and planning on redecorating my living room next year so looking at the stuff you’re looking at is giving me my own ideas.
That is really neat to be able to see how things will look without even leaving your home to ‘shop’! I think your room already looks nice and I am sure you will make it look nice when you redo it. God bless! 🙂
I LOVE the Amethyst, it’s my favorite color! I bet my Husband wouldn’t want it in our living room though haha
I really like the idea of adding color while redecorating. It can really make a big difference.
I’ve had the desire to redecorate as well. I have no idea how to get started though. I love your color ideas. The furniture from this website sounds great. I Would definitely shop there.
I love the way your living room looks right now – warm, earthy colors. If you are changing, I’d suggest the peacock and dove for an absolutely different look from the present one. 🙂
