Healthy Eating Using Creative Resources…like Activz!

**PLEASE NOTE: While Activz DID provide me with this product to review at no cost, I was not in any way paid for my review. The following opinion is hereby my own.**

So, are you tired of hearing me say this yet? “These days we’re trying to eat a bit healthier at our home!” Well…I don’t know how else to phrase it…but we are!

Since this is a “newer” journey for both of us together, I’ve been experimenting with a lot of recipes and products that I’ve never tried before! So when Brooke from Activz contacted me to see if I wanted to review an Activz product, I had to first stop and to to their website (which you can do by CLICKING HERE) and see what on earth she was talking about. I’d never heard of Activz before, and WOW! How did I miss this?!

When you discover Activz, you’ll discover products such as vitamins and supplements, fruit powders, vegetable powders, grass powders, protein shakes, silver, greens, coconut water powder and more!

YES, you read that right: Coconut Water POWDER.

I mean, how convenient is that?!

I was blown away – I took about an hour to look through the website on my first visit; after all, they have recipes there, and their own blog! So much  fantastic information!

I was given my choice of an Activz product to test for the sake of this review, so I chose the Mixed Berry Powder.

And that’s EXACTLY what it is. No filler ingredients here!

Now, my first thought for powder was a smoothie. I mean, that’s the logical choice, right? But when I received the product and saw what a great source for Vitamin C the powder was, and that it equaled FIVE POUNDS of fresh berries (WOW!) I got to thinking. I’ll bet there’s a ton I can do with this!

So I did some experimenting, and I came up with three unique ways to use the Mixed Berry Powder:

1. Berry Oatmeal Cookies

Since TOMORROW is National Oatmeal Cookie Day, and who doesn’t love FRUIT in their oatmeal?! What could be simpler than a Berry Oatmeal Cookie! I used the recipe I found at the lovely Jen’s Favorite Cookies blog – I mean, have you checked her blog out? To DIE for! CLICK HERE for the recipe! And all I did to modify it was add 2 Tablespoons of the powder to it. They taste like a fantastic oatmeal cookie…with a touch of fruit added!

2. Berry-Fresh Whipped Cream

I whip up heavy cream often (normally 1 cup of heavy whipping cream with 2 packets of sweetener added) to use with fresh fruit or as a nice addition to homemade desserts. This time, I added a teaspoon of the powder, and it came out so pretty! (Heads up: this is one that you can’t taste the powder in at all! Perfect for sneaking into the picky kiddo’s diet!)

3. Berry Yummy Tea

One of my favorite things to drink is English Breakfast Tea. I brewed a lovely cup and added a 1/4 teaspoon of the powder to the tea! It was really fantastic, I must say! And one of the strongest-tasting experiments, as well!

I was so thrilled with how everything turned out and TASTED! Amazing!

Furthermore, I’m convinced that you could hide fruit and vegetable powder in a TON of foods that kids wouldn’t even notice – Activz products could be great for your picky eater!

Thanks to Activz for introducing me to creative products that will help me be a healthier me!

  4. Interesting that all this comes in powder form–being single it is difficult to get all the veggies and fruit I need (they go bad before I can eat them)–this looks like it might be perfect for me.

  5. Did you try the cream with the cookies and drink it down with the tea? I use a plant based protein powder having gasteropaeies a stomach disorder where food does not digest properly protein powders have always been a excellent source of proteins for me so I am a huge fan of smoothies and powders with nutrition in them. I also have to loose 40 pounds and that’s a huge goal of mine lately. Now that the weather is starting to get nicer I don’t have much excuses.

  6. I tend to fail at products like this. My head just can’t grasp the innovative ways of trying to use products. It was helpful to see how you used the product. I am going to share with my MIL though. She gets into all these kinds of products. Thanks for sharing.

  7. I haven’t heard of this company before, but they do have some really great products! We are eating healthier at our home too, so have to check out their site for sure. Those cookies really look delicious!
