Fall Holiday Shelf!

Happy First Day of Fall, all!

First of all, I LOVE this season – it really is my favorite!!! Second of all, it’s kinda hard to get into Fall here in Florida (the high today is slated to be 86…which is about 10 degrees cooler than highs last week…so maybe we’re getting there…but probably not!) But I don’t let the heat and humidity outside hamper the “feeling of Fall” that I like to create inside! And all of that starts with the Holiday Shelf.

If you look from left to right, you can see where I represent Halloween, Thanksgiving, and then just Fall in general. I’ve not really want to split up the decoration occasions for the shelf, because then we can’t enjoy it for any length of time. Plus, I’m not a huge Halloween fan. (Don’t shoot me.)

I snagged this cute gourd and pumpkin pair at Michael’s!

I’m totally digging the copper! So I threw in a little more copper fru-fru!

And here’s my tribute to Thanksgiving (that will be here before you know it!)

One of my sweet friends gave me these last year, because she knew how much I LOVE Fall! I love all their little details, and the accents of what they’re carrying really pop in silver.

The apples are representative of Fall in general, I think…I always think of fabulous apple desserts in the Fall, don’t you? And I LOVE Honey Crisp apples!

And I liked the fun little crate! (Also from Michael’s)

I put together a little contrasting banner with some scrapbook sheets – I like the roughness and the sparkle combined!

It tops off the decor perfectly!

Don’t you agree?

Oh, and since the front door is right there, I always like to decorate the inside of the front door, too.

This lovely piece came from Hobby Lobby several years ago! Perfect for the inside of the door!

  1. I really do love that shelf you put together! Fall is my favorite time of the year as well–of course I am in New York so the air is decidedly getting crisper and cooler. You captured all the holidays for sure!

  2. What amazing decorations. I’m totally in love with your display. How imaginative. We have nothing like this in England, where the temperature stays mild, like yours, so late in the year. Because autumn signifies the coming of winter, I’m not keen on it. I feel the cold now I can’t move around as much as I could in my youth.

  3. I love the way you’ve put the decorations up. The ones for Halloween are great; focusing on harvest rather than the creepy side of it. We’re certainly getting the autumn (as we call it this side of the pond πŸ˜‰ ) weather now, but we don’t do much decoration for the different times of the year.

  4. I always look forward to your holiday shelf. And I’m in love with your fall shelf. The pumpkins, the apples and your tribute to Thanksgiving all scream fall and work so well together. It’s beautiful.

I’m not a big Halloween fan, either. I was when I was a kid, but once I realized the true meaning of the holiday, no, thanks. πŸ™‚

  5. Kristen, I have been anxiously awaiting your Fall Holiday Shelf πŸ™‚ It is just a lovely representation of all things Fall this year! LOVE the copper!
I listened to a sermon on tape many, many years ago which completely turned me off to Halloween. My baby girl (now27) was never allowed to participate in Halloween at all. Now, she tries to find some cute dressed up children to hand out candy to. She participated in a Trunk or Treat at their apartment a few years ago and won top prize.
Her actions as an adult got me to thinking about what she believed she missed out on. Now, with grandchildren. I do participate in the Fall Festival at church and enjoy spending time with my grandchildren when they get dressed up.

  6. I love this, the colors are beautiful! Did you get that box at Home Depot? I was there yesterday and went back and forth whether I should get one or not. I think I have to go back and pick it up.

  7. Kudos to you! I live in Miami and I can never seem to get into the Fall spirit here. We used to live in NC and I always went crazy decorating there, but I don’t really do much here, other than put my Halloween wreath on the door as Halloween approaches. Your shelf looks perfect!

  8. You send me some of your heat, I’ll send you some of our cool, we’ll both be happy, yes? πŸ™‚ I like the decorations a lot. It sure looks like Fall there! I’ve got to get cracking over here.

  9. This is incredible, Kristen πŸ™‚ I believe seasonal and holiday decorations are more popular in the US than anywhere else in the world. The abundance of decorations in the shops in the States is overwhelming. The items don’t look half as good at the shops as they do on your shelf! It does indeed create a special atmosphere – not just the decorations themselves, but the preparation and the packing up until next year. Thank you for sharing! Enjoy πŸ™‚ HUGS <3

  10. The shelf looks great!! But what I really love is the crate of apples from Michael’s – how cute is that? The copper details are lovely and your hanging sign is the best! I love that. I have got no details at all hanging right now. I haven’t even closed my pool. In denial!!

  11. I just moved to Florida and am struggling already with the heat vs my body thinking its time for Fall… I’ll have to do the decorations part of life to keep reminding myself its not always summer here!

  12. I love fall too! I am in GA so I know what you mean about the heat. πŸ™‚ We just moved back here from NC and fall there was beyond amazing. For me Fall is pumpkins all the way! Your decor is fantastic!
