Day One of The Christmas Home Tour!

Hi, folks! Welcome to the blog on this beautiful Monday! Today, we forgo the regular “Over the Weekend” post. Just know that we had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, BUSY as usual, and we hope the same wonderful time was had by all of you!

Today is a special day, because it’s the first day of the Christmas Home Tour!

Wohoo! Are you excited?! I’m having SO MUCH FUN visiting these homes, and I know you’re gonna love them all!

Just a little overview for any new readers: I wanted to do a week of Christmas home tours here on the blog, so I’ve hand-selected five ladies who have invited me into their homes to view their Christmas decor. And I’m sharing it with all of you! So, without further ado, allow me to present…

Tammy’s House – Designer Driven

Meet Tammy:

And what does designer-driven mean, you say? Well, it means that Tammy has an interior designer come to her home each year and do her decorating!

I originally thought that was probably pretty expensive, but, according to Tammy, not really.

“I set a budget for it, and she works within the budget,” Tammy explained of Michelle Broxton, interior designer. “She uses lots of the same things every year, but she moves items around, and I always go shopping right after Christmas and pick up a few things for the next year, when everything is on sale!”

Ready for a peek?

Walking in Tammy’s front door, here’s what you see to your immediate left.

I mean, WOW. So beautiful, right?!

I LOVE how the hardwood floors just glow in the lights from the tree!

The ornaments have a vintage look…

…and the rest of the accessories are just too fun!

Such cheerful whimsy!

The entry-way is also a fantastic place to display some Christmas photos…

…along with a few pretty Christmas sparkles!

And speaking of Christmas sparkles, here normally lies a group of decorative stones…but now…

…Santa’s boots and more Christmas sparkles! And I love the color scheme that comes into play!

An every-day glass-display coffee table is easily transformed for Christmas…

…into a shadow-box full of beautiful decor, and the space at the top of the TV cabinet has a few Christmas touches added to it’s normal design elements!

Oh, and a great way to add some Christmas cheer around your home is a few good throw-pillows!

The fireplace is one of my favorite spaces in Tammy’s home!

Here’s a “glowing” shot:

One thing Tammy loves about the fireplace decor is that all the stockings are different.

“People tend to comment that the stockings don’t match, and I don’t really want them to match,” she explained. “I love the fact that they’re all different, because each one of them describe a family member perfectly!”

Did you notice? Even their hangers are different!

And here’s a close-up on the mantle decor:

Don’t you love those elf legs?! And yes, that’s a burlap banner!

Beautiful, huh?

The kitchen is just as pretty!

I love the glow above the cabinets!

See how the designer has incorporated the Christmas decorations into the regular everyday decor here, too?

I love that! Little touches of Christmas everywhere!

Oh, and we can’t forget the eating area…

The bright colors are just perfect!

Tammy normally has Michelle decorate the master bedroom, as well (last year it was all a beautiful teal peacock theme), but she’s changing that decor out this year, so we left that room off the tour this time!

What a fantastic start to our week here at the blog! Thanks so much to Tammy for opening her home to all of us, and to Michelle Broxton for all of her hard work!

Michelle actually owns Crawford-Hill Interiors and Southern Posh, both very successful businesses in Central Florida. If you’d like to contact her, feel free to email her at, and make sure you stop by Crawford-Hill Interior Designs HERE (or their Facebook page HERE) and Southern Posh HERE (or their Facebook page HERE!) You’re gonna get TONS of ideas!

What do you think? What ideas did you get for your home? I’d love to hear about them!

  1. Loving the Day One Tour! What a beautifully decorated home and decorating the kitchen/ the heart of the home is perfect! I think I saw elf legs sticking out of the tree too, what a silly surprise πŸ™‚ Merry Merry Ho Ho Ho!! Can’t wait to see tomorrow’s tour!!!
ps.. awesome photos and descriptions πŸ™‚

  2. I love to decorate, not sure if I could pass it off to someone else. πŸ˜€ I love the throw pillow idea! Those shouldn’t be too hard to sew up really quick.

  3. What an idea of getting some else to do the decoration with the decorations your own things. I’m sure if she does it year after year she know what Tammy likes. I’m with Terry, I don’t mind the decorating it the clean up and take down that I’d want someone to do.

  4. Decorating for Christmas is one of our favorite things to do. I will enjoy your home tours this week! It is fun to ‘peek’ in at others decorations also! Love the upside down Elf legs!

  5. Very nice! I especially love the candles in her fireplace. I love that she has a decorator come in and can have the luxury of coming home to a beautifully decorated home without all of the stress πŸ™‚ ~Renee

  7. Whimsical vintage is the best! I love this warm, comfy dΓ©cor. I love also how she doesn’t care if everything matches exactly, like the stockings. So much interest for the eye!!

  8. Thank you all. And yes, she will take it all down…but, I do that! I’m not creative, and don’t like it the same every year. Michelle, is a great friend and works wonders every year with just little additions every year!!

  10. ELF LEGS!!! Love them… and love the Elf Vacation sign. May have to try both of them.
I also got a light bulb moment when I saw the greenery at the top of the cabinet. Duh!!!! I have it everywhere else… why not there?!
