Celebrate National Ice Cream Month with Graeter’s!

I’m not sure where you live, but it’s definitely SUMMER where we are! Temps are in the 90’s each day, and each day I try to decide whether it’s too hot to walk the girls down to the mailbox in their stroller or not. (It’s about half a mile down to our mailbox). That is, of course, if it isn’t pouring buckets of rain already. Yes, it’s definitely summer here in Central Florida!

With the temps alone it stands to reason that July is actually National Ice Cream Month! While our family would celebrate this event EVERY month with no problem, Graeter’s is having an especially big celebration, because they’ve now been in the ice cream business for 147 years! So Happy Birthday, Graeter’s! We think you’re something pretty great to celebrate!

Graeter’s Ice Cream is a nationally recognized and awarded ice cream brand (Named Top 5 in the Country by the Food Network!) that was founded almost 150 years ago in Cincinnati, OH. The fourth-generation family owned and operated company has perfected the art of using the French Pot, a traditional, small batch artisanal process of making ice cream. Known for their indulgent, premium flavors and ingredients, they’re also widely recognized for their gargantuan gourmet chocolate chips.

And, speaking of birthdays and celebrations, we’re coming up on a big one this summer: our sweet twins will be an entire year old!

Can you tell how thrilled they are about this?!

As you can imagine, we’re planning quite the party for these two – with cake and ice cream included, of course. So, since we’ve been trying them out on new foods quite a bit here recently, we figured, what better to test in preparation for the party than ice cream? Graeter’s ice cream, specifically!

I feel totally safe letting the girls do some taste tests on Graeter’s ice cream, not only because of the company’s extremely safe food practices, but because of their quality ingredients! No fake syrups or sweeteners. No fake colorings. What’s more, Graeter’s Ice Cream contains no hydrogenated oils, thus no trans fats. And the “cream” in Graeter’s? Sourced from local cows free of artificial growth hormones. Their custard base is made from fresh, local eggs, and everything is sweetened with 100% pure cane sugar.

I picked up three different flavors of Graeter’s for our family:

  • Madagascar Vanilla Bean (for the girls to sample)
  • Mint Chocolate Chip (my favorite)
  • Buckeye Blitz (my hubby’s favorite)

So, if you wanna see something totally cute (I may be a tiny bit biased, but I don’t care! HA!) check out the girl’s YouTube debut, and the first time they sample ice cream!

If THAT doesn’t make you want some Graeter’s, well, I just don’t know what will! We all pretty much give Graeter’s a thumbs-up over here!

Oh, but I don’t have any Graeter’s at the stores in my area, you may say. Well, never you mind about that. Now you can order Graeter’s from their website and have it shipped directly to you! Isn’t THAT quite the deal?! CLICK HERE to check out all their flavors and shop online!

  1. One of my most guilty pleasures is ice cream. I haven’t heard of this brand and must try. I remember the first time I gave my son ice cream. He threw up!! LOL

  2. Who doesn’t love ice cream? I am so bummed I didn’t celebrate with a tasting party of my own. I’ve never tried the graeters brand. I doubt it’s available in my country but I’ll keep an eye out when I’m back in the states.

  3. Well I learnt something new today. I did not know July was national ice- cream month. I love family owned businesses so this is one I would not mind supporting while getting some great ice-cream
