One of the projects on our never-ending list of “things to do for our house” is having a water softener and filtration system installed. We once had our water tested at our previous home, and were amazed (not in a good way) at the amount of JUNK in it! Now, since our water is coming directly from a well and not from the city itself, we think it’s even more important to have some form of a filtration system installed. Is There Any Danger in Having Fluoride in My Water? #cleanwater Click To Tweet
Something I was especially interested in exploring further was the fact that fluoride was found in our water!
Fluoride was first linked with stained teeth in 1901, but it wasn’t until the 1940’s and 1950’s that the effects of fluoride on cavities was discovered. There have been a number of studies which demonstrate the effectiveness of fluoride at reducing cavities and other dental issues, and it is actually these studies which first led to the addition of fluoride into the public water supply. As a result, the government remains convinced that the addition of fluoride is safe and necessary. However, there are those that have their concerns regarding this natural compound.
