Y’all, it’s happened. My very “thrifty” husband has decided that he and I need a getaway.
OH, THE BLISS! The girls are 22 months old and I have yet to spend a night away from them. I mean, I’m not complaining. I’m just saying – it might just be time!
So he told me to pick a place. PICK A PLACE. I mean, how on earth can I do that?! So many places! So little time! I was trying to think of a place where people go spontaneously, so of course, Vegas came to mind. But, although my in-laws love the casinos and actually do pretty well at any casino they visit, the hubby and I don’t care much for them. So really – why ELSE would you even GO to Vegas?

And it it no surprise, considering the fact that in 2017 alone, Las Vegas Strip casinos generated $6.47 billion in gaming revenue, with the most prominent casinos reporting as much as a 3.9 percent increase in total revenue including rooms, food, beverage and gaming over 2016. It is clear that gambling represents an overwhelmingly large portion of Las Vegas’ total annual revenue.
We’re getting ready to go on a little vacation. Just a few days in peace down in Longboat Key, Florida, which is one of my favorite places in the world. We thought we’d take the chance to get away and celebrate our anniversary and have some time for just us before the babies arrive!
