A Grilling Season GIVEAWAY! Plus, an AWESOME Burger Recipe! With Stubb’s!

We’re wrapping up June and headed into July, which means if you haven’t been grilling already, you’re soon to be! Steaks, burgers and chicken have seen our grill so far, how about yours?

While steaks, burgers and chicken are pretty standard as far as meats that end up on grills, I’ve got some bigger plans for the near future, thanks to Stubb’s! Because, just like everything else in the world, there are TRENDS in barbecue, too!

STUBB'S LEGENDARY BAR-B-Q LOGO

Stubb used to say “it all starts with a great rub,” and in 2016 that includes not only steaks, brisket and ribs, but also burgers! And, as always, my favorite thing about Stubb’s is that it gets its bold flavors from real ingredients, with no artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners. It contains no high fructose corn syrup, which is the No. 1 ingredient in most national BBQ sauce brands!

Today, Stubb’s BBQ expert and grandson Rocky Stubblefield is sharing a great tip to help us jump on a new BBQ trend: the “Boosted Burger” trend!

Rocky’s tip: Create over–the-top burgers by coating each patty with Stubb’s Bar-B-Q Rub, then sprinkle with a little smoked sea salt to really enhance that smoky barbecue taste. Let the patties sit for a while before cooking – you can actually see the flavor seeping into the meat! Before you throw them on the grill, make a thumbprint in the middle of the patty to get a flat, evenly cooked burger instead of a plump, rounded one that is undercooked in the middle.

Tips on How to Use Your Thanksgiving Leftovers – from Stubb’s BBQ! (GIVEAWAY INCLUDED!)

Well, hey, y’all! Are you still in a turkey-induced coma? Are you already out shopping those Black Friday sales? I hope you and your family and friends enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration!

Where will you find ME today? I’m home, folks! You could not pay me enough to be out there in the craziness, I’m sorry! I’m home taking down all my Fall decor and putting up Christmas. My house looks like Christmas vomited all over it, but it’s okay – it’ll be so pretty when I’m all done!

But you know what? Before I get all the way into Christmas, I’ve got to say: we have TONS of  Thanksgiving leftovers stacked in our refrigerator right now. And while I HATE to waste food, I also HATE eating the same thing over and over again. Are you with me?

So I’m thrilled that the fine folks at Subb’s BBQ have offered up some suggestions to help us use our leftovers…but in different ways every time!

I mean, THAT is what we SHOULD have done, right? We totally should have barbecued our turkey! I will need to remember that for next year…

How about we start out with a new twist to an old favorite: Turkey Pot Pie

Stubb’s Review & GIVEAWAY!

**PLEASE NOTE: While Stubb’s DID provide me with this product to review at no cost, I was not in any way paid for my review. The following opinion is hereby my own.**

If you’ve been around the blog any length of time, you know that I’m a big fan of all the Stubb’s BBQ products! I love that they’re not only gluten-free, and also free of artificial preservatives and colors, but they’re also SO simple to use! And the end result?! I’ve yet to meet anyone who hasn’t liked what I’ve created with Stubb’s products!

Since October is National Chili Month, it made perfect sense for me to try their Chili Fixins out! All I needed was two ingredients of my own, and their lovely bag of “Cooking Sauces”. (Oh! Let’s not forget that you can also get BBQ Slider, Hatch Chile and Smokehouse Bourbon Cookin’ Sauces, but this time I was after the Chili Fixins Cooking Sauce.)

I love that you can make this in a skillet or in the Crock Pot! While I don’t mind making things in a skillet at all, on this particular day, we had spent the morning at church, I had just enough time to grab some lunch and change my clothes (and prep dinner) before I headed to a photo shoot that would consume the afternoon, and we had a house guest! I knew I needed the Crock Pot this time around, for sure.

EASY Crock Pot BBQ Ribs – with Stubb’s BBQ Sauces! GIVEAWAY INCLUDED!

**PLEASE NOTE: While Stubb’s DID provide me with these products to review at no cost, I was not in any way paid for my review. The following opinion is hereby my own.**

The 4th of July is practically upon us! (Can you believe that?!) The year is flying by, y’all!

When I think of the 4th of July, I think of BBQ. I mean, doesn’t everyone?! In fact, I think of BBQ when I think of most summer gatherings! Cookouts, pool parties, picnics…BBQ. And when it comes to BBQ, there’s no brand I love more than Stubb’s.

STUBB'S LEGENDARY BAR-B-Q LOGO

BBQ is BBQ, you might say. You’ve had one kind of sauce, you’ve had them all! NOPE! Not true! You know why?

Stubb’s BBQ products are all-natural, gluten-free and non GMO. Plus, their sauces don’t use any of that nasty high-fructose corn syrup! They average out at about 20 calories and 110 milligrams of sodium per tablespoon. And trust me, you don’t miss all the “junk”. These products, from their sauces, to their marinades to their rubs, lack nothing when it comes to flavor!

So I decided to do something a bit different this year…

My hubby LOVES BBQ, and he’s a fan of ribs, too! He had just made mention to me not long ago that I had never made him any ribs, and I mentioned back to him that he had never grilled ME any ribs! HA! We laughed and left it at that, because we live in Florida, and let me tell you…IT’S WAY TOO HOT FOR GRILLING RIGHT NOW!

Hence the crock pot idea. Of course!

I picked up two flavors of the yummy Stubb’s BBQ sauces and about 5 pounds of ribs (boneless this time).

On the Road in May

May The Road to Domestication

Less than 7 months until Christmas, y’all.

I’m sorry – I couldn’t resist.

Can you believe that today is JUNE 1?! (It’s also the beginning of hurricane season, which is a big deal for us in Florida. And since the painters literally finished painting the outside of our house on Friday, I’m not sure whether we’re totally smart – since everything is nicely sealed now – or totally gonna have an insurance claim on our hands – and have to pay for new paint all over again! I guess we’ll find out…)

Anyway…today is the day we find out the top five posts here on the blog for the month of May! Let’s see…
