8 Simple Steps to Reduce Your Food Shopping Bill

When you’re on a tight budget, buying groceries is one of the very last things you want to do. And while you can work your way around a lot of the things on your monthly shopping list, there is unfortunately no way to get around the fact that you need to feed yourself and your family. While you may not think you’re spending a lot, your food bill could kill your budget in seconds if you’re not careful!

But, there are some simple sure fire ways to keep your food bill down and still eat like royalty (well not royalty, but king of your castle at least!)

Step 1: Shop with coupons

When you’re shopping for, or about to spend money on anything there is very probably a coupon SOMEWHERE that will help you cut down on your overall bill. If you’re shopping online, you’ll most likely find free shipping coupons for most stores. If you’re shopping in-store you could find percentage or dollar off coupons on specific products, departments or your whole bill. Either way, you’ll be amazed at how much you save! It’s also a good idea to use coupons on your other purchases not involving groceries, which leaves you with surplus – there are some pretty useful Target promos available now, so make sure to check them out.

A Trip to HomeGoods

It’s Day #2 of the Back to School Blog Hop! Today it’s Dana’s turn to share over at Prudent Wisdom! Check out her post on Back to School Lunch Ideas HERE! Yummy!!!

Now, I must tell you that I LOVE HomeGoods! But I don’t get to go as often as I used to, because, since we moved, the closest one is now about 45 minutes away. (And when Hobby Lobby is just 15 minutes away…well, you can see where I spend more time!) However, we were in the neighborhood over the weekend, so here’s what caught my eye:

I have been LOVING white dishes lately.

Maybe it’s just that they look so crisp and clean and elegant, or because they’re neutral…I’m not really sure. But I DO enjoy them!

A Trip to World Market

I first learned of World Market from Emily over at Decor Chick. In one of her posts she was listing details of her husband’s birthday party, and she posted a pic from World Market, where she had visited for supplies. Immediately I Googled the store, feeling sure there wasn’t one anywhere around me, since I had never heard of it, but hoping…just hoping…

Just over an hour away from me, I located one. Wow! I was excited! I told my husband that night that I wanted to go to World Market. It was a new store I had discovered, I said. I got an eye roll…until I pulled up the website and showed it to him. He decided he might want to tag along. So, a couple Saturdays ago, we headed out.

We found this particular World Market in a HUGE beautiful new shopping center in Winter Garden. TONS of other stores – it was totally worth the drive!

When we entered World Market, we found out not only that they have a lovely rewards/coupon program, but they even do events in the store (they were doing a wine tasting that particular day)! How fun! It was pretty busy in there, but not so busy that you couldn’t move around and see all the treasures they had to offer.

At our store, when you walk in, looking to the right you can see just about any kind of gift packaging that you can imagine.

Wondrous Websites

From time to time, in all of my pinning and blog-reading and social networking, I come across some new websites that I’ve never seen, heard of, or thought of using or searching for. I want to share some of those with you today!

1. Organize (www.organize.com)

Okay, so I’ve known about this site for a good long while now, but I keep encountering folks who don’t! If you haven’t heard of it, you MUST check it out, immediately! You can search organizational products by room – it’s really quite fabulous! I’ve ordered many things from them, and have never had any issues. AND, right now, they are having a sale on garage storage and organization! (Which I need, as it’s becoming clear that my husband is waiting on me to organize his tools…instead of organizing them on his own…and doesn’t seem to care that I’m tired of digging in moving boxes for a hammer…ummm…what was I saying?) Check out this site!
