So I just looked at my hubby’s “weather center”, and right now it’s 91 degrees here in Central Florida. DANG. Has that stopped me from moving wards the “Fall” mindset?! NO. I LOVE Fall, and I’m SO ready for our weather to reflect it! In that spirit was today’s post penned…errr…typed.

Whether we like it or not, autumn is fast approaching, and that means saying goodbye to the warmer sunnier months and welcoming the crisper, cooler time of year. (YES!) As the days get shorter and the nights get cooler, you’ll want to start finishing up any last-minute maintenance on your home and start getting it prepped for autumn and winter. Here are some great tips on how you can get your home ready for those colder months, so you can be well-prepared waving summer off.

What Prep Do I Need to Do Inside?

There are many tasks you will need to complete inside your home in order to get it ready and prepped for the colder months. If you have a fireplace, make sure it  has been cleaned out and that your chimney flute is in good working order. Along with your fireplace, if you have a furnace then you will need to get it ready for winter duty. We would recommend you have this professionally cleaned.

The 2017 Fall Holiday Shelf!

I. LOVE. FALL.

I always have, ever since I can remember. And I still love it this year, too. But for some reason, this year I had a really hard time decorating for the Fall season like I normally do! Maybe it’s that we’re in a new house, and I have to revamp where I’m putting everything. Maybe it’s because I have two toddling helpers who follow me everywhere I go. Maybe it’s because it’s still so dadgum HOT outside. I’m not sure.

But I finally got my Holiday Shelf done!!! Woot woot! So here it is!

Can you tell I had trouble with it?! HA!

It’s a little bit different than normal…somehow. I still feel like it is. But I really wanted to use these sweet little deer because we kind of live in the country now, and I thought they were a neat reflection of that.
