So I just looked at my hubby’s “weather center”, and right now it’s 91 degrees here in Central Florida. DANG. Has that stopped me from moving wards the “Fall” mindset?! NO. I LOVE Fall, and I’m SO ready for our weather to reflect it! In that spirit was today’s post penned…errr…typed.

Whether we like it or not, autumn is fast approaching, and that means saying goodbye to the warmer sunnier months and welcoming the crisper, cooler time of year. (YES!) As the days get shorter and the nights get cooler, you’ll want to start finishing up any last-minute maintenance on your home and start getting it prepped for autumn and winter. Here are some great tips on how you can get your home ready for those colder months, so you can be well-prepared waving summer off.

What Prep Do I Need to Do Inside?

There are many tasks you will need to complete inside your home in order to get it ready and prepped for the colder months. If you have a fireplace, make sure it  has been cleaned out and that your chimney flute is in good working order. Along with your fireplace, if you have a furnace then you will need to get it ready for winter duty. We would recommend you have this professionally cleaned.

Preparing Your Garden for Spring

I love Spring! Well, other than the incredibly high pollen count that sends my allergies into a frenzy, that is.

This year I’m still a bit preoccupied with two tiny humans, so I won’t be doing a Spring Garden, but when Morgan from Craig Manor sent over this infographic, it was almost enough to make me reconsider! I think by the time I have everything ready it would probably be Summer, which isn’t at all helpful!

All the same, I figured I’d share it with all of you! I’ll just have to follow it myself next year!
