Yes yes, I am still here! Are you shocked?!
Y’all, we’ve had a LOT going on over the past couple of months, but things are moving back towards a routine, and I’m excited to be back in the land of blogging! Woot woot!
So the biggest news is, we sold our house and bought another one! And can I just say that it’s WAY easier to move with no kids than WITH kids?! My goodness! I really had no idea!
We’re getting settled and establishing new routines in the new house, and there are lots of awesome things coming for us and for the blog, but for now, I wanted to share some fun pics with all of you.
NOTE: these pics are of the OLD house. WHY am I sharing pics of the OLD house with you, you ask? Well, I never really got to share ALL of the room tours I wanted to from the old house, and since our real estate agent brought in a professional real estate photographer to photograph the old house, well, my goodness! I wanted to show off the pics! Plus, you’ll get an idea of what the new house might look like from looking through these – most of the decor is the same, for the time being!
Without further ado…
…welcome to 6843 Cabernet Crossing, our previous home!
This is the first home my hubby and I ever purchased, so it will always hold a special place in our hearts!
A million thanks to At Home, for partnering with all of us on this Fall Home Tour! #myreason
You may have heard me say that Fall is my favorite. Well, it’s true. I LOVE FALL. But, if there is one downfall of living in Florida, it’s that Fall is pretty hard to come by. I mean, seriously. It’s the beginning of October, and our highs are still in the 90’s. Yeah.
So, when it comes to my love for Fall, I have to make the season change INSIDE my house. That’s #myreason for doing all this Fall decorating! When the calendar proclaims it Fall, I start baking all things pumpkin. I change my candles and soaps to Fall scents. Hey, I would even crank our air conditioner down if my husband would let me!
So, if you wanna see, do come along with me for a tour of Fall…inside our home!
First of all, welcome to our home!
It’s your standard 4 bedroom 2 bath house, in a cozy little development where we know our neighbors, and the resident kids play football in our front yard because it’s the biggest!
So far this year, you’ve journeyed along with me as I tested five new Fall recipes (CLICK HERE IF YOU MISSED THAT AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT NOW), and you’ve seen the outside of our home all decorated for Fall! (CLICK HERE IF YOU MISSED THAT AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT NOW!)
I’ve had a few people ask me about the decor around the inside of the house, and specifically: the Holiday Shelf!
For those who are new around here, my Holiday Shelf is my weak attempt at pretending I have a mantle. Here in Florida, we don’t have too many fireplaces, meaning we don’t have too many mantels, meaning I can’t decorate a mantel for all the seasons and holidays that I enjoy decorating for. So I’ve substituted a shelf in our foyer for that…and the Holiday Shelf was born!
Anyhoo, this is old hat to most of you – so, may I present to you, the 2015 Fall Holiday Shelf!
I know, I know what you’re thinking already. BLACK AND GOLD?! What on earth! Those aren’t FALL colors!
Well, here’s the thing. I’ve been itching to do some kind of decorating with black and gold for a while now, so I decided that now was as good a time as any. And mainly because…I found THIS:
If you’re stopping by the blog today, then you must be all set for Christmas and decided to do something fun! Congratulations!
Depending on what time it is right now, I am at one of four Christmas Eve gatherings we are supposed to attend today. Whew! But before I left, I set up six home tours for you to check out if you’re still feeling the need for some Christmas inspiration!
The first one is simply the Christmas Home Tour of our own home from last year! Did you happen to see it? If not, CLICK HERE to check it out!
The second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth ones (I know, I know!) are from last year, too! Trust me, if you missed these tours, you’ll definitely want to check them out!
Well, it’s the fifth and final day of the Christmas Home Tour! I honestly have had more fun on this series than anything else I’ve done here on the blog! I’m so sad to see it end, but I’m thrilled with HOW it’s ending today!
Here are ALL the links from the tours this week:
Just a little overview for any new readers: I wanted to do a week of Christmas home tours here on the blog, so I’ve hand-selected five ladies who have invited me into their homes to view their Christmas decor. And I’m sharing it with all of you!
And to finish out our week…are you ready?
