Can you even believe that it’s August 1? That means 4 months until December!!! (I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist!)
Moving on, moving on… let’s not think about Christmas just yet! How about a peek at the top posts here on the blog in the month of July?
1. Celebrate National Ice Cream Month with Graeter’s! – The giveaway is over, and heck, the month is over, too, but there’s NEVER a bad time for ice cream! Especially Graeter’s!
According the calendar, it’s now summer! Well…it’s been summer for a while now – but I’m not as quick on the draw as I used to be, that’s for sure! All I know is, school is out, the temps are rising, and I am officially the hottest pregnant-with-twins-woman who has ever been on the face of the planet pregnant with twins. I really am. In fact, what’s the hottest planet? Is it Mars? Maybe THAT’S the face of the planet I’m on. I’m HOT, y’all. I KNOW it’s summer!
So, if it’s summer, then of course, it’s time for me to reveal my Summer Holiday Shelf! Here we go…
The more shelf designs I do, the more I think that simple is best. But I love how this one pops with the yellow, black and white!
Well, folks, by the calendar, it’s SPRING!
I have a love/hate relationship with Spring, myself. I love it because everything starts going towards bright and cheerful and colorful. I hate it because I can’t stop sneezing, and normally develop some kind of sinus infection or bronchitis attack. Gotta take the good with the bad, I guess!
And one of the good things is, I can make it look like Spring INSIDE my house without sneezing a bit! Allow me to present to you…the 2016 Spring Holiday Shelf!
The centerpiece of this design is clearly the glass milk jugs in the wire basket.
Well, folks, this year I decided to take it super simple with Valentine’s Day, and I think my shelf reflects that! Here’s a few super-simple pics for you!
I used all the red heart cards for a fun and messy little banner. I kinda like that they don’t all hang perfectly!
So far this year, you’ve journeyed along with me as I tested five new Fall recipes (CLICK HERE IF YOU MISSED THAT AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT NOW), and you’ve seen the outside of our home all decorated for Fall! (CLICK HERE IF YOU MISSED THAT AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT NOW!)
I’ve had a few people ask me about the decor around the inside of the house, and specifically: the Holiday Shelf!
For those who are new around here, my Holiday Shelf is my weak attempt at pretending I have a mantle. Here in Florida, we don’t have too many fireplaces, meaning we don’t have too many mantels, meaning I can’t decorate a mantel for all the seasons and holidays that I enjoy decorating for. So I’ve substituted a shelf in our foyer for that…and the Holiday Shelf was born!
Anyhoo, this is old hat to most of you – so, may I present to you, the 2015 Fall Holiday Shelf!
I know, I know what you’re thinking already. BLACK AND GOLD?! What on earth! Those aren’t FALL colors!
Well, here’s the thing. I’ve been itching to do some kind of decorating with black and gold for a while now, so I decided that now was as good a time as any. And mainly because…I found THIS:
