5 Tips for Keeping Your Home Feeling Bright This Fall

No matter where you are in the country or what the weather is like, there’s an approaching feeling of fall in the air. Summer is coming to a swift close, and the carefree feeling of vacation season is fading away. Pumpkin spice products are starting to appear on grocery shelves, even if it’s still hot and humid.

Before you get the end-of-summer blues, make some plans to brighten up your home this fall with these tips:

Bring Your Garden Indoors

Spring and summer are when our flowers bloom and our gardens thrive—but what about the fall? Sure, you can find some beautiful late bloomers at great prices this time of year, but your outdoor space still won’t have the pizazz it had when in full bloom. Save yourself the “garden gloom” and find a few easy-to-care-for houseplants to brighten up your indoor rooms!

Chores That Should Be At The Top Of Your To-Do List This Fall

One of my favorite things all year long is putting out my Fall decorations! I LOVE FALL! And I love decorating for it! So I sometimes have to remind myself that, as fun as decorating for the season is, the important thing is to make sure you’re prepared for it.

Caulking windows

The moment that the balmy days of summer end, you will want to seal your window and door frames with caulk to secure your house from the chilly outdoor temperatures. How to Get Your Home Ready for Autumn

So I just looked at my hubby’s “weather center”, and right now it’s 91 degrees here in Central Florida. DANG. Has that stopped me from moving wards the “Fall” mindset?! NO. I LOVE Fall, and I’m SO ready for our weather to reflect it! In that spirit was today’s post penned…errr…typed.

Whether we like it or not, autumn is fast approaching, and that means saying goodbye to the warmer sunnier months and welcoming the crisper, cooler time of year. (YES!) As the days get shorter and the nights get cooler, you’ll want to start finishing up any last-minute maintenance on your home and start getting it prepped for autumn and winter. Here are some great tips on how you can get your home ready for those colder months, so you can be well-prepared waving summer off.

What Prep Do I Need to Do Inside?

There are many tasks you will need to complete inside your home in order to get it ready and prepped for the colder months. If you have a fireplace, make sure it  has been cleaned out and that your chimney flute is in good working order. Along with your fireplace, if you have a furnace then you will need to get it ready for winter duty. We would recommend you have this professionally cleaned.

The 2017 Fall Holiday Shelf!

I. LOVE. FALL.

I always have, ever since I can remember. And I still love it this year, too. But for some reason, this year I had a really hard time decorating for the Fall season like I normally do! Maybe it’s that we’re in a new house, and I have to revamp where I’m putting everything. Maybe it’s because I have two toddling helpers who follow me everywhere I go. Maybe it’s because it’s still so dadgum HOT outside. I’m not sure.

But I finally got my Holiday Shelf done!!! Woot woot! So here it is!

Can you tell I had trouble with it?! HA!

It’s a little bit different than normal…somehow. I still feel like it is. But I really wanted to use these sweet little deer because we kind of live in the country now, and I thought they were a neat reflection of that.
