Well, here we are at the beginning of another month. The month of DECEMBER, no less! I’m still having a hard time swallowing THAT one!
Nevertheless, it’s time to look back and see what the top five posts here on The Road to Domestication were last month!
5. Free Christmas Printables You NEED! – This was a brand new set of Christmas printables that I created just for this season! They’re still totally free, if you haven’t gotten the chance to download them!
Right now, here on the blog (and on about 25 other blogs, too!) there’s a huge event happening: The Ultimate Cookie & Goodies Virtual Party & Giveaway!
You can join in the party by CLICKING HERE! Link up your holiday goodies recipes, holiday printables and even enter to win $350!
It’s a celebration of all the yummy parts of the holidays, so it’s the perfect time to share one of my favorite Christmas recipes: Red Velvet White Chocolate Chip Cookies!
Why I like them:
- They’re so PRETTY!
- The ingredients are not expensive, and the directions are not hard
- It’s easy to make this recipe in bulk
- Everyone else likes them too!
I found this recipe on Pinterest via the lovely Kate at The Small Things Blog several years back, and I’ve been making them at Christmastime ever since!
Here’s what you need:
- 1 box – red velvet cake mix
- 1 cup – all purpose flour
- 2 sticks – butter (softened)
- 1 egg
- 2 cups – white chocolate chips
Assembling the recipe is SO simple – CLICK HERE to see all the instructions!
These really are addicting…I’m totally NOT joking. I’ve already had several people ask me if I’m making them again this year. Well, of course I am! And you should, too!
What is your favorite kind of red velvet dessert? Do you only make all things red velvet around Christmas?

**PLEASE NOTE: While Family Finest DID provide me with these products to review at no cost, I was not in any way paid for my review. The following opinion is hereby my own.**
You all know that I enjoy trying new products and giving reviews! But when I was given today’s product to review, I was a little…stuck. For lack of a better word. I had no doubt that it would be a great product…I just wasn’t sure that I was the right person to test it for review. I needed some more…honest…reviews. And who’s better at being honest than KIDS, right? Of course, we have no kids at our house, and even though my husband promised he could give an impartial review, I still wasn’t quite sure. So…I had to borrow some guest reviewers. Are you ready?
Meet: the Woodchips*
From left to right: W3 (age 4), W2 (age 5), W4 (age 2), and W1 (age 9)*, all siblings! W2-W4 I have know since they were born, and I actually had the privilege of telling W1 and W2 that their mommy was at the hospital having W2 and W3!
So, Mr. & Mrs. Woodchip dropped the W’s off at our house and they headed out for a nice dinner, while we planned a dinner of our own!
I was diagnosed with Celiac’s disease when I was 18 years old, and my mom set to work to find new recipes and ingredients that I would be able to eat without difficulty. This is one of the first recipes she tried! I don’t know where it came from originally, but I’ve been making it this way for…quite a few years!
