I’ve always had allergy issues. Then I married my husband, who has also always had allergy issues. And now we’re finding out that our littles ALSO have allergy issues. No surprise there, I guess. Do you have allergy sufferers at your house?
Allergies can impact people inside their homes and outdoors. While you can’t control what’s happening outside your front door, you have a little more control of your environment at home. I’ve been doing lots of research on this, of late, and while cleaning can reduce allergies, many times people turn to chemical products for cleaning which can make allergies worse and take a toll on the environment. In fact, did you know that there are more than 80 different chemicals in regular household cleaners today? With the following four chemical-free cleaning tips, you can reduce the way that allergies can impact you in your home, reduce the amount of chemicals you are exposing your family to, and do more to “go green” as you clean!
Clean Your Home with Natural Products
Did you know that you can remove 99 percent of bacteria and allergens using hot water with a little vinegar in it and a good cleaning cloth? If you find the vinegar smell a little too strong, dilute it and add some fresh lemon or orange juice. Cleaning your home without chemicals is much healthier for your family and more eco-friendly. When you’re done, you’ll feel great that your home is clean and smells naturally fresh.
I’ve been curious about essential oils for a while now. But I tend to stay away from things until the “craze” has died down, and there’s been such a craze going on with oils, am I right?
I don’t go a day without seeing a blog post on essential oils, or a pin that tells me how to use essential oils, or a friend on Facebook inviting me to an essential oils event. And like I said, I’ve been curious about all things essential oils for a while now – there’s just so much information that it’s hard to know what to believe!
So when Ella from Homdox contacted me to see if I’d like to peek through their catalog and pick a product to review, I wasn’t even thinking of anything related to oils, to be honest. When I popped over to the main Homdox site I discovered everything from Home & Kitchen products to Toys & Games, and tons more! But once I narrowed things down a little bit, I discovered this nifty little product:
THIS, my friends, is an Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier Oil Aroma Diffuser. (Say that 3 times fast!) Isn’t it cute?!
I did a quickie order off Amazon for some decent essential oils to test, and once they had arrived, I un-boxed my new treasure.
I don’t know what it’s like at your house, but at my house, we have allergies. I do, my husband does, and even the dog and the cat do. No, I’m not joking! It’s a serious issue for literally all of us!
Which is why, if you were to show up at our house on any given day, you would probably find me dusting and vacuuming, trying to make sure I’ve wiped away and sucked up any allergens that I missed the day before. The struggle is real, folks!
So when Eva Henderson contacted me with a post full of allergy-proofing tips, I was all about it! Let’s see how she can help…
There are many allergens lying around your homes that may easily become a problem in the long run, such as cockroach droppings, dust mites, dander and more. Some of these can trigger allergies with ease, so you would do well to avoid them as much as possible. This will only be done by cleaning your home on a regular basis and by doing so with allergies in mind. The following tips will give you more help in your fight to keep your home or office allergen-free.
You’ve heard it in general conversations, and you’ve probably even uttered the words yourself: “There’s a lot of junk going around!”
**SIGH** When is there NOT a lot of junk going around?
I caught the dreaded flu right before Christmas, and I was purely miserable. It took me about a month to feel like myself after that – crazy how some things can just take you down! Then, soon after the new year, my allergies started up! (If you have allergies, yours probably starting kicking early, too – crazy weather!)
I’m JUST now starting to feel more like myself after the allergy fun, and now I’m hearing about this awful stomach bug floating around that keeps you sick for days on end. Oh dear. If there’s anything I can’t stand, it’s throwing up.
Since I have an autoimmune disease myself (read more about Celiac Disease HERE) I really do try hard to stay healthy! Because when I catch something, it takes me longer to rid my body of it than it does the average person. That’s why when I came across an article in the Ladies Home Journal about the secrets of a healthy immune system, I read it right off the bat. Great tips, so I thought I’d share with you!
You know when I find a product that’s really helpful to me, I always like to pass it on! So here’s another Fabulous Find for everyone!
