**PLEASE NOTE: While Stubb’s DID provide me with this product to review at no cost, I was not in any way paid for my review. The following opinion is hereby my own.**
I’m a huge fan of most anything Stubb’s. Ever since I discovered that their products have no HFCS, no gluten, and are also free of MSG, I’ve been a loyal customer! But probably my FAVORITE thing about Stubb’s is their awesome variety! Marinades, sauces, rubs and cookin’ sauces, you really can’t go wrong, and you absolutely could eat for weeks using just their products and still not be bored!
I also love the story of how Stubb’s became the company it is today. It started with Stubb, a mess sergeant in the United States Army, moved on to open a restaurant, and it only gets better from there! If you want to know the whole tale, CLICK HERE! (It’s a good one!)
Today, I decided to use one of their marinades! I had used their steak marinade before, but I decided it was time to test out their chicken option:
Their chicken flavor is Citrus & Onion, and it smells amazing right out of the jar, first off! Another thing I love, as you can tell from the photo above, is that you can literally SEE how many awesome ingredients are packed into a bottle of Stubb’s! (If you’d like to marinate beef or pork, look for their Soy, Garlic & Red Pepper or Chiles, Lime & Ginger marinades!)
I marinated my chicken for about 6 hours.
Once I figured it was good, I popped it into a pan to simmer it up. (You could totally grill it at this point, too, but it was pouring rain when I was ready to cook it, and my hubby wasn’t too keen about grilling in lightning. And I’d kinda like to keep him. So I did it this way!)
Even though the chicken was already dripping with marinade, I drizzled some extra over it, just for moisture’s sake.
It cooked up beautifully!
I always like to add a little something extra, so I decided to serve this meat with some pineapple on the side…
…and pair it with some green beans and almonds, too.
The verdict? Absolutely delish!!! It has a tiny kick to it, but a bit of sweetness, too, and the combination of flavors together is really amazing. The chicken held the marinade very well, which is great, because there’s nothing that annoys me more than marinating meat and by the time you get done cooking it you can taste NONE of the marinade. That was definitely not the case this time! We loved it!
