On the Road to Conception

This is a sponsored conversation from Mums the Word Network and The Stork OTC. All opinions are my own.

By now, most of you have seen me reference our twins, Baby G and Baby M, here on the blog. Seven months old they are now – I can hardly believe it!

But if you are fairly new to the blog, you may not know the story behind our sweet girls. (If you want the FULL story, just look up at the tabs along the top of the page you’re on and select the “Our Infertility, Pregnancy, Birth Story & Resources” tab – you’ll get all the details! (Or just CLICK HERE!)

In a nutshell, my husband and I tried for three years to get pregnant. One of those years we devoted to trying everything “medically” possible to get pregnant – which made for an EXTREMELY rough year. If you’ve had a similar experience and tried some of the same things we did, you KNOW just how hard it can be! You know the conversations you had to have with your partner were uncomfortable enough, but to have to have those conversations, with your doctor(s), too? It’s not for the faint of heart!

And then there are the conversations that you have to have with those around you!

You’re familiar with the questions. “How long have you guys been married now? When are you planning on having some kiddos?” “So, do you ever want to have kids? Or do you plan on being one of those people who just focuses on their career?” Or the famous comment, “You’re not getting any younger, you know!” (Thanks. I wasn’t aware of that at all. I’m so glad you pointed that out!)

After a while, the desire to have a baby and the questions from friends and family and the frustration of continually not becoming pregnant can really take a toll on a girl. And her partner. And their relationship! I have watched the struggle destroy marriages, and, while that did not happen to myself and my husband, it so easily could have. I believe that’s the reason why we initially started down the medical path to conception – because we were so frustrated that we decided to take drastic action.

Now. Before I go any further, let me say this: I don’t think that going the medical route is a terrible thing to do. But for me? For my husband and I? I wish we had never made that attempt. And I’ll tell you why.

Fertility medication and procedures sent my body into such a state of flux, I honestly feel like I haven’t regained my “normal” self yet. (Here we are in March of 2017. I had my last fertility treatment in September of 2015, and I STILL feel like I’m not myself. That’s a long time to feel “messed up”!) Between the general side affects, the weight gain, the mood swings and the time it took to maintain it all, it was just not at all worth it to me. To us. I know women who have done very well with it. I’m just not one of those women! And now that I have been pregnant? I would take another high risk twin pregnancy with all of the hoops I had to jump through over the fertility treatments any day of the week!

At the point of my deepest frustration and disappointment, if I had known there was a product like The Stork OTC out on the market, I would have been on it like white on rice, let me tell you. Instead, we gave up. We decided we were the couple who just wasn’t going to have kids. And we did our best to grow stronger from it and move on.

FDA GRAPHIC

Of course, the joke was on us when we miraculously (and I’m telling you, it was miraculous!) found out we were pregnant in January of 2016, and in February we found out we were having TWINS. All natural. No drugs whatsoever. We were extremely blessed, no question about it!

I share that knowing full well that the surprise happy ending we received does not happen for everyone. But I also share it to say that there IS hope, and there ARE products like the Stork OTC out there that can help with the process without taking your body for the ride no woman really wants to go on!

So you’re probably wondering how The Stork OTC works, right? I shall spare no details! (Well, maybe I’ll spare a few…)

Walgreens Package (2)

The Stork OTC combines advanced technology with an established conception technique – cervical cap insemination. The kit includes a condom-like sheath with a Human Sperm Bio-Assay tested cervical cap, to collect the sperm during intercourse and a unique applicator for placement of the cap at the cervix, all cleared by the FDA. Cervical cap insemination has documented success rates between 10 and 20%, and recent clinical data demonstrates The Stork OTC delivers a significantly higher sperm concentration to the cervix compared to natural intercourse.

The advantages to using The Stork OTC are many! You can use this product yourself in the privacy of your own home, to take things one step further than the ovulation tests you’ve probably already done a multitude of times, am I right? There’s no loss of intimacy, no trying clinic visits; no drugs, no hormones; no invasive procedures; no time lost from work for tests and procedures. This product is perfect for those who are just starting to try for a family or those who have been trying to conceive for a longer period of time. From low sperm count, low sperm mobility, unfavorable vaginal environment and even unexplained fertility, The Story OTC could just be the remedy you’ve been looking for!

If you want to give The Stork OTC product a try, check out your local Walgreen’s store. You can find the product in the family planning section, right next to the ovulation test kits! And just so you know, BALANCE REWARDS Members (Walgreens card members) will receive a total of 5,000 (yes, five thousand!!!) points with their purchase of The Stork OTC in any store during the months of March and April! I mean, WOW!!!

  1. I’m sorry you had to go through the struggle of infertility – I had a friend several years ago who went through it and she was so heartbroken all the time. Nothing was working for her and her husband, and it was so hard for her to have to live with. She called herself “a childless mother” … eventually it ruined her marriage and after her divorce, she moved away. We lost touch, but I think of her often.

  2. Wow I have never heard of this company! A friend of mine is trying for her second baby, so I will definitely recommend this to her!

  3. This is awesome. I never personally struggled, but I have a very good friend who has been having a very hard time TTC and I think I am going to send her this link to check out.

  4. Infertility is so hard.It is really stressful for many couples.it is good to know about such products which can help fight infertility. With such treatments and with peaceful mind, many couples can conceive easily.

  5. So many coupls struggle with infertility – it really hurts my heart. This article is a great resource for alternate methods to help with pregnancy.

  6. This is so great that you were able to conceive after going through the pain of trying out the fertility drugs. I know that my ex and I were worried about getting pregnant before hand because of some of her issues. But our baby came along so quickly it was crazy. We never had another one though.. So who knows why?

  7. I’ve heard a lot about Stork OTC and how it has helped those trying to conceive! I think my BFF (who literally JUST had her baby) used it! PS – Hope your Twitter party was a huge success! I haven’t done one in forever!

  8. There will really be couples who would have to go through this and it’s heartbreaking. I think it’s nice to have a non-invasive option. This sounds so much healthier than injections and medications.

  9. Not having to drink tons of medication and being injected sounds really good especially if you’re not comfortable with seeing the doctor so much. I think this is nice, it’s not harmful and it’s reliable.

  10. Am planning to conceive soon and your post helps me to learn and gain ideas about pregnancies. Thank you for these information, huge help!
