New Product Review: Jamberry Nails!

Jamberry Nails? What on earth does that have to do with domestication? Isn’t this a blog about cooking and cleaning and home organization and home decor?

Well, yes, indeed it is…but let me say this: it doesn’t hurt to LOOK NICE while you’re doing all that! Right?!

Now, I’ve never been one to do my nails much. Well, toenails, yes. I do those myself every two weeks. But fingernails? I always found they took too long to dry and then they chipped too fast, and I never wanted to get in the habit of wearing acrylics because they damage your real nail so badly…

Anyways. I had all but given up on my fingernails. I mean, I kept them shaped and my cuticles moist, etc. But no color at all. It was just too much trouble for me.

Until about a month ago when my sweet friend Mallory told me about a brand new product she had signed on with called Jamberry nails.

Meet Mallory:

Well, Mallory, her hubby and her kiddos, to be exact!

You may remember Mallory from the home tours I did at Christmas-time last year, too! (If you’d like to see how she decorates her home for Christmas, CLICK HERE!)

Now, when Mallory first invited me to a Jamberry Nails “party”, she told me she was selling the nail wraps for the company, and I almost fell out of my chair. As you can see, she’s very busy with her little ones, and she also works with her dad at the family car lot, AND sells jewelry, AND heads up the Junior Kid’s Church at our church…and probably does a ton of other stuff I don’t even know about!

I believe my question to her was, “When on earth are you going to have time to sell these things, much less DO your nails?!”

When she informed me that you could be done with one hand in five minutes…and that it would last for up to two weeks…she had my attention.

When I went to her website to check out all the designs…I was even more interested. I mean, look at these!

And these!

And they even have special sizes for the little girls in your life!

I mean, how cute are those! They are just a few out of over 300 designs of nail wraps that Jamberry offers!

So I decided to try them out. I chose these pretties:

I had heard that the toes were the hardest, so I decided to do those first, and yes, what I had heard was true! So I actually ended up doing only my two big toes, and painting the rest of my toes coordinating colors, and I honestly kinda like the way it turned out! What do you think?

The hands were WAY easier! Here’s all I did:

1. Rub a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol all over my nails and fingers, to remove any oils that were hanging out
2. Choose the sizes to fit my fingers (it’s easy with the clear backing of the nail sheet!)
3. Cut to size and remove the wrap from the nail sheet
4. Blow for a couple of seconds with my blow dryer to make it nice and warm (but Jamberry also has a nail dryer you can purchase!)
5. Place on nail and trim anywhere needed

I was literally done with both of my hands in 10 minutes flat! And that was WITH me taking the time to paint one accent finger on each hand, too!

Whatcha think?

Now, one sheet of Jamberry Nails is $15, and one sheet covers 2 manis and 2 pedis! (You CANNOT get that kind of value at the salon, that’s for sure!) Jamberry says their nail wraps will last up to 2 weeks on fingers and up to 6 weeks on toes, and from watching them on my fingers and toes, I think that’s totally true. And with a new catalog coming on September 1 that will have TONS of designs for the holidays in it, you can’t go wrong!

Now, if you don’t know anyone near you who sells Jamberry, never fear! You can order them right from Mallory’s website, and she can also do a Facebook party for you and all your friends! How convenient is that!

So what do you think of Jamberry? Have you heard of them before? Would you use them for yourself?

  1. There has been a lot of buzz about these lately, but I have acrylic nails, so I can’t get these. I think they are super cute, though.

    • Robin- you can apply these to acrylic and shellac nails! I recommend getting a clear wrap with a design so your acrylic nail color shows through! Just buff the nail a little so it will stick better 🙂

  2. I have not heard about Jamberry nails !! I love the designs. I always think rather than spending time to trim the sheets to my nail size I would paint them. I tried it once but I couldnt do it perfectly.May be I think I should do it with patience. I will keep trying 🙂

  3. Oh I love those! I never do my nails because 1. I don’t have the time & 2. They look like chip city by the end of the day anyways. I really need to just try these already!

  4. these are cute and they seem very cost effective. Never thought to get them for my daughter.. (I read an above comment that gave me that idea).. I will have to contemplate.

  5. I love the fun that women can seemingly have with nails nowadays! It used to be that pushing the creativity like that was only allowed for little girls, and I love that it’s ok for any age now!

  6. I had gel nails for over 15 years and finally I was done! It took a while for my nails to look normal. I’ve seen these before, but didn’t know if they would really work. Looks great and a lot easier than polishing.

  7. The name sounds familiar…I love the way you did yours with an accent on the nails. Makes me want to order right now – I love doing nails and all it has to offer. Even yesterday I was tell my hubby how much I love nail stuff. Great share…will check them out. You said they don’t destroy your nails?

  8. I love my Jams!! When I did them the first time, they lasted 8 days. On me, that is a loooong time!
I had the pink and purple peacocks. Also, I just received my Sugar Plum, Hypnotic, and ASpen. Can’t wait to use them!
Great value, great product, great review.
Thanks Mallory for introducing me to Jams!

  9. Kristen, your nails are adorable! I love the coordinating colors you did on your toes! Nail art is one of my favorite things. I have a Pinterest board for Nail Art. I’ve even had my husband follow the tutorial on a Pin to do my nails for me, was thrilled that he played along.
I had not heard of Jamberry Nails, sounds interesting.

  10. I have seen these a lot lately and would like to try them. They certainly look lovely. I will have to check out the website.

  11. Love my custom Jamberry nails from my precious daughter-in-law, Kaitlin Storey! She’s made a believer out of me! I have custom nails for my school (Marshall) and for my nephew’s school, Strawberry Crest! Love school spirit!!
