Find Your Optimum Level of Cozy!

Ah, January. Everything is fresh and new and…cold. Or wet, depending.

Here in Florida? It’s wet. It’s rained for days on end now, but I happen to like the rain! If I don’t have to go out in it. If I can stay inside and let the rain fall outside, I’m pretty happy!

And when it comes to the inside of my home, I’ve always wanted it to be cozy. I’ve wanted people who visit to immediately feel at home and safe and calm in our home – and I hope I’ve accomplished that so far! But here recently, I’ve been working on making one particular room in our home “cozy”. That room is the Master Bedroom.

We’ve had the same decor in our Master Bedroom since we got married. Everything has been shades of teals and browns. One day I’ll give y’all a tour of that decor. And teal and brown is fine – but I was ready for a change!

So I started thinking…how about shades of white and blue, with some yellow thrown in? Bright, cheerful, clean, cozy and not TOO girly (for the sake of my hubby, right?)

Well, as far as I’m concerned, the first step in making sure a Master Bedroom is cozy is taking care of the bed itself. I’m a pretty frugal chick, but I’ll be honest: one thing I don’t mind splurging on is bed linens. Why? Because you can’t put a value on a good night’s sleep! And in looking for some fantastic bedding, I knew I had to check out Parachute Home.

Look what I found!

Linens1

Can’t you see yourself sinking into the middle of those?! Along with a few of these…

Linens2

So crisp and clean. Are you sleepy yet?

Now, at our house, we do not exist at the same body temperature. Yours truly is normally cold, while my husband is normally hot, so I found something else that would remedy that issue perfectly!

Do you not LOVE the cream one on the far left?! Perfect to add to the bed (just on my side), or for a quick wrap-around on the couch!

And for that extra touch of cozy…

Candle

Just the ticket! There’s nothing quite like a candle to make you feel all warm inside…especially one like this…since we have no fireplace!

So now that I’ve figured out what the plan is for the Master Bedroom, I’ll move on to the guest bedroom, so our guests can feel just as cozy as we do!

  1. I’m determined to redo my master bedroom this year. Seems I spend all my time and efforts with the main area – great room/kitchen/dining room.

I love the throws, the pillows, the bed linens – I love it all! I need to check it out!

  2. I’m still struggling to find that cozy spot in bed after having surgery a few weeks ago. I sure hope I find it soon. I’m getting deliriously tired. Sleep deprivation is definitely kicking in.

  3. Those are pretty, calming and relaxing colors for the bedroom. It is so much fun to re-decorate a room, especially the bedroom! I was not familiar with Parachute Home, I will have to check them out.

  4. We just bought a new duvet cover last fall, and the pillow shams arrived in December. They’re gray and white and I’m in LOVE with them. I feel so elegant when I get into bed now. 🙂

  5. A cozy master bedroom is definitely worth splurging a little on. After all, a good night’s sleep can make or break everything you do!

  6. Oh I love those throws and candles I am addicted to candles. I have my computer office in a spot in my bedroom and next to it is our old rocking chair which used to be my husbands. We have a nice big king size bed I have been looking for a smaller bed because hubby and I really would like to free up a bit more room in the bedroom and we would like to be able to snuggle next to each other with out having to climb over the huge space between us. I really like the blankets, pillows and the cozy throw the cream would look really pretty in my all white bedroom or maybe the grey heck I want one of each. Great review. No I’m not sleepy I’m kinda excited got some creative ideas on how to decorate my bedroom now thank you so much for sharing.

  7. What is it about master bedrooms that so many of us leave them til every other room is done? I’m guilty of that, too!

  8. I am so with you on the comfort and cozy!
That comforter is simply gorgeous too! I can see going to bed with a comfy cozy smile on my face under that!
