So far this year, you’ve journeyed along with me as I tested five new Fall recipes (CLICK HERE IF YOU MISSED THAT AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT NOW), and you’ve seen the outside of our home all decorated for Fall! (CLICK HERE IF YOU MISSED THAT AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT NOW!)
I’ve had a few people ask me about the decor around the inside of the house, and specifically: the Holiday Shelf!
For those who are new around here, my Holiday Shelf is my weak attempt at pretending I have a mantle. Here in Florida, we don’t have too many fireplaces, meaning we don’t have too many mantels, meaning I can’t decorate a mantel for all the seasons and holidays that I enjoy decorating for. So I’ve substituted a shelf in our foyer for that…and the Holiday Shelf was born!
Anyhoo, this is old hat to most of you – so, may I present to you, the 2015 Fall Holiday Shelf!
I know, I know what you’re thinking already. BLACK AND GOLD?! What on earth! Those aren’t FALL colors!
Well, here’s the thing. I’ve been itching to do some kind of decorating with black and gold for a while now, so I decided that now was as good a time as any. And mainly because…I found THIS:
Don’t you love that?! And it’s black and gold! (This fun and FREE PRINTABLE came from Kellie over at Nest of Posies! She had it designed by the amazing Stephanie of Design by Spec, and they’re letting all of us download it for FREE! CLICK HERE to go check it out!) I thought it was simply gorgeous! So, as it is customary for me to hang something on the inside of our front door, not just the outside, I popped this into a frame, grabbed some ribbon and I was all set in no time.
Oh, but on to the shelf.
I already had these candlesticks on hand from a couple of years ago – do you remember when I made them? If you’d like to see the tutorial I did on these in 2013, CLICK HERE!
They still look fabulous!
This pretty lil’ leaf was a Hobby Lobby steal this year…
…and this sweet lil’ lantern came from Pier One several years ago.
It fit right in, didn’t it?!
The lovely “Welcome” sign was another Hobby Lobby treasure…
…and I found the candles to perch atop my candlesticks over at Michael’s!
This gold “grass”…well, I’m not sure where I picked it up from, exactly, but I used it in last year’s Christmas Holiday Shelf, remember?
I decided it would be the perfect addition to this year’s Fall Holiday Shelf!
So there you have it!
What do you think of the black and gold and white for Fall?
If you’d like to see what I’ve done in past years for the Fall Holiday Shelf, feel free to check them out below!
Now, I mentioned that there are some new decorations around the House of Campbell. Just a couple!
I did a new centerpiece for the dining room table for Fall this year…whatcha think?
The pumpkins and table runner are the same, but I changed out the candlesticks so I could use the black and gold ones on the shelf, and I added another lantern that I had on hand, complete with one of my favorite things in the world: the flickering battery-operated candle! Since people always ask me: the pumpkins are from Hobby Lobby (2 years ago), the lantern is from Pier One, the candle is from SOHO and those candlesticks. I won those candlesticks at an “Ugly Santa” game two years ago! HA! I loved them!!!
Also new this year for Fall is the decor on our sideboard.
See that tapestry-like table-runner? One of my Christmas presents last year from my mother-in-law. She knows how much I love Fall, and she even had it personalized, because she knows how much I LOVE personalization, too!
But I already had a table runner for the dining room table, so I wasn’t sure what to do with this one at first…but it turned out beautifully!
These figures were another Hobby Lobby item…
…as was this piece:
I already had the candlesticks and candles on hand!
New in my kitchen are these fun towels – don’t you just LOVE them?! (Also purchased and personalized by my mother-in-law).
Having those towels in the kitchen allowed me to move the former kitchen towels over to our guest bathroom:
And that’s the new Fall stuff here around the house! Everything else looks much like it did in years past – here are links to those good times, if you want to snoop around:
Do YOU decorate around your home for Fall? I’d love to hear about it!
