**PLEASE NOTE: While Stubb’s DID provide me with these products to review at no cost, I was not in any way paid for my review. The following opinion is hereby my own.**
The 4th of July is practically upon us! (Can you believe that?!) The year is flying by, y’all!
When I think of the 4th of July, I think of BBQ. I mean, doesn’t everyone?! In fact, I think of BBQ when I think of most summer gatherings! Cookouts, pool parties, picnics…BBQ. And when it comes to BBQ, there’s no brand I love more than Stubb’s.
BBQ is BBQ, you might say. You’ve had one kind of sauce, you’ve had them all! NOPE! Not true! You know why?
Stubb’s BBQ products are all-natural, gluten-free and non GMO. Plus, their sauces don’t use any of that nasty high-fructose corn syrup! They average out at about 20 calories and 110 milligrams of sodium per tablespoon. And trust me, you don’t miss all the “junk”. These products, from their sauces, to their marinades to their rubs, lack nothing when it comes to flavor!
So I decided to do something a bit different this year…
My hubby LOVES BBQ, and he’s a fan of ribs, too! He had just made mention to me not long ago that I had never made him any ribs, and I mentioned back to him that he had never grilled ME any ribs! HA! We laughed and left it at that, because we live in Florida, and let me tell you…IT’S WAY TOO HOT FOR GRILLING RIGHT NOW!
Hence the crock pot idea. Of course!
I picked up two flavors of the yummy Stubb’s BBQ sauces and about 5 pounds of ribs (boneless this time).
I chose the Sticky Sweet and Sweet Heat varieties, because I like BBQ sweet, but with a little kick! This combination is perfect if you’re like me!
I mixed up a bit of seasoning to add in…
…and then started to load down my crock pot.
(Please forgive my foil liner – I ran out of the nice clear liners and I HATE scrubbing a crock pot dish that has cooked something with no liner!)
Sauces, ribs and seasoning, all stacked in neatly. (I’m getting hungry right now just looking at these photos! Because I know the end result already, perhaps!)
After a few hours (and a VERY yummy-smelling house) here’s what I ended up with:
Are you drooling yet?!
How about now?!
I have to tell you, my husband about flipped his lid – he LOVED these! And I thought they were way tasty, too! Just the right amount of sweet, with a healthy kick to finish, and oh so tender! Perfect for July 4th! Or a summer get-together! Or any other time of the year, let’s be honest!
Here’s my lil’ recipe:
- 5 pounds ribs
- 1 bottle Stubb's BBQ Sweet Heat Sauce
- 1 bottle Stubb's BBQ Sticky Sweet Sauce
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 2 heaping tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon pepper
- Line crock pot.
- Blend paprika, brown sugar, salt and pepper together.
- Combine two sauces and blend well.
- Add 1/2 cup sauce to bottom of crock pot - spread evenly.
- Layer: ribs, spices, sauce until you've run out of ingredients!
- Cook on low for 5 hours
