Dollar Tree Organization

I did a post a while back about the brand new Container Store that came to my neck of the woods – remember that one?

While I LOVE The Container Store, they are not always as cost-effective as specific projects require. When I’m working on something like I’m working on now (I’ll reveal once it’s complete, no worries!) and I need more items than normal, I don’t necessarily want to spend upwards of $10 for one container.

I often purchase things that may only be used once or twice at the Dollar Tree – items for centerpiece bases for parties, baskets for give-aways, gift boxes, etc. So I was aware that they probably had what I needed for this particular project, but when I walked in, they had MORE than I needed.

1

Well, I didn’t need any hangers, but if I did I think I could have them a different color for every day of the week!

2

They had some great “smaller items” organization stuff, too. Didn’t need any of that, either, but I still thought it was pretty cool!

3

Color-coded vegetable and dip containers?! WOW!

Now these? These I needed! And I bought quite a few of different shapes and sizes.

4

I mean the containers. But the potholders were pretty awesome, too!

I got some of these…

5

…and these…

6

…and these lil’ ones!

7

And then I saw the mother-load!

I mean, seriously! Your kids are home for the summer, right? Time to organize the playroom? You’ve got everything you need right here!

I ended up leaving with everything I need for under $20. UNDER $20. That’s fantastic!

This post doesn’t even touch on all of the baskets, food storage containers, glass jars, hooks, drawer organizers and more that you can find at the Dollar Tree. My point is, the next time you’re trying to organize something and you’re on a strict budget, check out your local Dollar Tree!

    • Yeah, I have a hard time resisting anything organizational, too. I have the potential to be more cluttered than organized, however, my motto now is that I do NOT purchase anything unless I have a specific purpose for it. If I don’t have a specific purpose for it, I give it away or sell it. Hard to wrap my brain around sometimes, but it works!

  1. Absolutely LOVE our Dollar Tree! We organized our home office for our Beekeeping business with bins from there – it was great! I also did my babies toys and items with the cute cloth bins there. She’s playing with one now!

  2. I love the dollar tree!! So many great things. I am right there with you on all the great organization they have, I can’t resist those baskets! I also have one of those black buckets that came is handy recently. I am so glad I bought it and it was only a dollar! :)

  3. I love the Dollar Tree! I have to agree, yours looks much nicer than mine does. I bought some of the colorful containers and bowls for my kids birthday party. Afterwards, I gave the bowls and containers to have for their new toys that they received from their party. It is a win-win!

  4. Your store looks really nice! I definitely love the Dollar Tree for organizational stuff. I think I’m going to have to go by mine to see if they have some of those fun vegetable dip containers. Those would be awesome for lunch boxes!!

    • It IS a pretty good store! This is actually the one where I work in a town called Plant City. I have another one that’s also nice right down the road from my house in Lakeland – it’s too much fun, I tell you! :) And YES, I LOVED those veggie dip containers! They would fit quite nicely in lunch boxes!

  5. I color code my kids’ stuff. Red, blue and green for the three little ones. I get almost everything for organizing at Dollar Tree. The only problem is, sometimes when I only need one of something, I’m tempted to buy three because they have it in three colors. The kids each need a color coded scrub brush for doing the dishes, right?

  6. As a preschool teacher I go there at least once every 2 weeks if not every week. Sensory bin stuff, art projects, and I too am a sucker for containers for organizing stuff. I love the dollar tree and so do my preschoolers :)
