Summer Decorating Ideas! + HM #185
I love decorating for the different seasons around my home, and I even decorated my offices for various seasonal celebrations when I worked full-time outside my home! My philosophy behind it is, life is a gift and it’s worth celebrating! So why not?! I hope you find some great ideas here in this post!
I think the biggest renovation project we have coming up (and when I say coming up, I mean over the next few years!) is our floors.
When we purchased this house, the seller agreed to have new carpet installed upon his departure. Carpet, you say? With all the fabulous hard flooring options these days? Well, yes, carpet, because, at the time, we had two babies who were becoming VERY mobile, and we didn’t want them learning to walk and having nowhere to fall but on very hard wood and tile floors. We thought carpet was really the best option at the time. That was probably the right decision THEN…but nevertheless, within the next few years we’ll be installing wood floors throughout!
Embarking on a renovation project can be exciting, challenging, and rewarding all at the same time. However, there are several things that are a must on any good reno revitalization. The last thing you want is to get halfway through, or worse still, to the end, and realize you left something out. If you aren’t sure how to get the most out of your renovation project, then consider these simple tips.
Find ways to make the most of what you’ve got
One of the main reasons people take on renovation projects is a want to do more with what you’ve got. Unfortunately, sometimes what you’ve got isn’t much, so it is crucial to make the most of what you are working with. Sectional garage doors are a fantastic example of this.
Summer is just a few weeks away and during the winter and spring seasons, your home’s interior and exterior have taken a beating. From dingy and damaged siding to dusty windows and an overworked HVAC system, there’s a lot that needs to be done. Now that the temperatures are right, it’s time to get up and restore your home. (And if you’re in Florida, like we are, that means getting it all done and squared away before a hurricane bears down upon us!) So, when it comes to tackling a long list of home maintenance projects, here are a few you don’t want to overlook:
With the summer comes hot and hazy days. If you have a central air conditioning system, now is the time to have it serviced. You don’t want to wait until the temperatures are high to find out that your system isn’t working properly. Checking hoses and fans, as well as cleaning vents and hoses, is crucial to ensuring your air conditioner is as efficient as possible when you need it most.
Call the Exterminator
Insects and pests tend to go into hiding when the weather is cold and unpredictable. The warm weather, however, will draw them back out. It’s not uncommon for homeowners to spot ants, spiders, mice, or cockroaches in the summer. To prevent an infestation, you’ll need to hire local pest control services. Companies like Moxie Pest Control, an exterminator Tucson residents love, offers safe methods for getting rid of and preventing the common household pest from entering your house.
