I’ve been thinking a lot of late on ways to make moms feel appreciated. I’m not really sure why. Maybe it’s because I AM a mom now, and there certainly are days that I DON’T feel appreciated even a little bit. I like to make others feel special, and I know that moms are a grouping of people who deserve to feel special, if there ever was a grouping of people who deserved to feel special! Can I get an “amen”?!
So this post and gift guide may be a little early, in the grand scheme of things, but really: how early is too early to start thinking about the perfect gift for your mom for Mother’s Day?
After all, mom is the woman who brought you into this world, and if you give a bad present on Mother’s Day, she’s the woman who can take you out of it. (Not that she actually WOULD, but she could!) So, why not plan to get her something she actually wants, so she can praise you like the perfect child that you are. (Is that how it would play out in your family? Yeah, probably not in mine, either! We can dream, though, right?! HA!)A Tech Gift Guide To An Amazing Mother's Day #technology #gifts #mothersday Click To Tweet
If you aren’t sure what gadgets would best suit Mom, let this gift guide help you find something guaranteed to impress. From kitchen tools to stylish chargers, here are some of the best tech-inspired Mother’s Day gifts!
Anova Sous Vide
Your mom loves to cook, and her primary job when everyone’s home is to keep everyone fed. It’s not a stereotype if it’s true! It’s also a great hack to Mother’s Day. When Mom’s a foodie, focus on her love for the kitchen and get her a cool tech tool this year like the Anova Sous Vide. Sous Vide — French for under vacuum —involves putting something in a plastic pouch before submerging it into boiling water. It’s a popular cooking technique that helps create flavorful and juicy dishes.
What once was confined to Michelin star kitchens, can now be found in family kitchens all over the world thanks in part toinexpensive tech like Anova. The Anova Sous Vide attaches to any pot and regulates the temperature of the water, giving mom ultimate control over her masterpiece. All your mom has to do is place her ingredients in a sealed bag or glass jar, and it promises an even cook that rivals even the best chef’s attempts.
Marble iPhone X Skin
Her iPhone X may technically still be new, but the fingerprints and scratch marks say otherwise. Help her camouflage these cosmetic damages with a marble iPhone X skin from the folks at dbrand. They use precision-cut vinyl to cover up these marks without concealing any of the features that make the X a sleek and beautiful phone.
If marble isn’t her style, don’t worry. A skin designer like dbrand isn’t content to stick with just one look. They’ve built up a huge collection of colors and textures, so they can offer up exclusive styles fit for every taste, like carbon fiber, dragon skin, stone, and bamboo. Head to their website to check out the new iPhone X wraps, and find something that screams ‘mom’. Pair it with the new skin compatible Grip case, and her phone will be stylish and protected by its skin-enhancing carbon-composite impact technology.
Kate Spade Everpurse
There’s an unwritten law that every mom must carry around a purse filled with everything anyone could possibly need. It doesn’t matter what it is, she has it. A magnifying glass so she can see the menu during brunch? Check. A full box of Bic round stick pens so she can sign the check when you’re done? Check. Some snacks for the long drive home? Check. With every nook and cranny filled with something that she or her family may need, her purse ways a ton. Lighten her load by eliminating the need to carry around a portable iPhone charger.
The new Kate Spade Everpurse has a charger sown into the lining of the bag. It’s lightweight and invisible, hidden seamlessly behind the lining’s fabric. The Everpurse comes with a charging mat so that its internal battery is always ready to share its juice with her devices.
If Mom’s always reading—and likely shoving that hefty hardcover book into her purse—a Kindle Paperwhite would make an excellent Mother’s Day present. It’s a small, lightweight device that has access to over a million titles. Its 300 ppi displays a crisp, clear page that won’t reflect light, even if she’s reading on the beach. That same clarity will follow her to bed when she catches the last chapter before turning in for the night, as its built-in adjustable light accommodates low light.
At the time of your Mother’s Day brunch, spring is blooming all around you. Soon, summer will arrive and what are only just small buds will blossom into flowers. Spring fever is in the air, and your mom isn’t immune. If she has plans to go hiking or to go travelling as the weather heats up, get her a Minipresso. This hand-powered portable machine grinds and brews espresso shots on the go, letting your mom get her caffeine fix wherever the spring takes her — whether on the trails or in a hotel room.
Pair it with a bag of Lavazza Crema e Gusto, and mom will never have to suffer through another cup of weak instant brew again.
The bottom line this gift guide is: tap into her hobbies
Though you may not be able to name the perfect gift right away, you need only spend some time thinking about what mom does in her spare time to brainstorm a great present. Like the items mentioned in this gift guide, you can focus on kitchen gadgets if she likes to cook or cellular accessories if she likes to text. Give yourself some time to think, and let her hobbies steer you in the right direction. But don’t worry if you’re still stumped. This guide is a great starting point for a lot of different moms.
