It’s been a little hairy around our house these days. There’s lots to get done in a short amount of time, and, I will admit, I haven’t been the best housekeeper recently. (Especially when it comes to all things vacuum cleaners related.) Add to that the fact that, while my hubby normally helps me, he’s been working lots of overtime so he can have some time off when the twins arrive, so the poor thing has been exhausted when he finally gets home.
And then there’s these two:
They’re super cute and super amusing and super…HAIRY. And while I originally loved the idea of one being black and one being white…SIGH. The hair. OH, the hair.
So when Will Tottle reached out to me and asked about sharing a post on handheld vacuum cleaners for pet owners…um, YES. I have a little vacuum, but nothing hand-held, and I was interested to see what he recommended! So, without further ado…here’s Will!
One of the things you have to deal with when you own a pet is the amount of hair you will find lying around. While this can often depend on the size of the animal, you would be surprised how much a little cat can moult. For ordinary vacuum cleaners, the challenge of picking up pet hair (especially in a multi pet home) can be one that is near impossible. That is why there have been a number of vacuum cleaners developed especially for those who own furry friends, so that sucking up fur is no longer an issue and can be done with ease. Here are five handheld vacuums that pet owners will absolutely love.
#1 Dyson V6 Animal
If there is a world renowned brand for quality and efficient vacuum cleaners, then it is Dyson. Since the release of their Animal range, pet owners everywhere have been using them to get rid of fur and hair from their carpets and general flooring.
The V6 is completely cordless and also handheld, with the ability to extend and retract depending on the area of the house you are vacuuming. It has a 20-minute battery life, is incredibly powerful, and you don’t need to worry about using bags or anything like that. It might be a little more expensive than most, but it is completely worth it.
#2 Dirt Devil Scorpion Quick Flip
This handheld vacuum for pet hair is easy to use and incredibly affordable, making it available to everyone. It has seven amps of power and is absolutely perfect for reaching into those little nooks, crannies, and crevices.
It’s light, has a warranty lasting three years, and even comes with several different sizes of hose – including a pet hair brush to get everything up. It’s ideal for furniture as well as the little nooks and crannies.
#3 Black and Decker Pivot
This vacuum has cyclonic action and incredibly powerful suction. It is high performance for maximum hair removal, and comes with a nifty pivotal head that makes cleaning every surface that much easier. Completely handheld, it is also cordless and does not require any bags during use. It has a superb battery life that won’t have you losing suction any time soon, and also has a very sleek design. Perfect for furniture, floors, and even counters.
#4 Eureka Handheld 71 B
This yellow powerhouse is lightweight and hugely popular with pet owners everywhere. It has two motors, for suction and cleaning, as well as a visor that will rise for carpeted stairs or even car upholstery. The cord is twenty feet long, and the hose three feet, so you won’t be struggling to reach any places with this beauty. Powerful and efficient, you will not want to be without this vacuum once you buy it.
#5 Bissel Pet Hair Eraser
This sleek and nifty little handheld vacuum may look small, but it is incredibly powerful. Ready to take on any pet hair infestation that you might have, you won’t regret picking one of these up.
It comes with a rubber nozzle for your furniture and upholstery, as well as one for sucking up all of the harder messes – like cat litter and other lumps you might find around the house. It has a HEPA filter for allergies, a 16-foot cord, and is completely bag free. The perfect vacuum for the compact pet owner.
